I had no real hope of this place being any better than any of the last few places that have been in the same spot but Black Barrel Bar and Grill pleasantly surprised me. It was a busy night but we were able to sit at the bar within a few minutes of arriving. Had great service and the food was really good.

Great staff, servers are excellent. I love the atmosphere. I’ll go back for beers but the food is a joke. I’ve been three times and 2 out of three the food was pathetic. It tasted great dont get me wrong, but one time I got a baked potatoes with pork and burnt ends and there was literally only three little shredded pieces of pork the size of three pieces of shredded cheese. They charged 3 bucks extra for the pork too. Then tonight I ordered some chicken strips cause I was in the mood for some buffalo chicken. They were cooked perfect and the buffalo sauce was phenomenal, but no exaggeration one of the four Strips wasnt even big enough to be classified as a nugget. It was smaller than my pinky, and the rest of the strips werent very big either. I cant understand how the chef, or the manager let that leave the kitchen. Im sorely disappointed. Not the first time I went I had the chili pie and it was perfect. Over all, beer yes food no. See the photos I attatched.

I went to Black Barrel Bar and Grill for my birthday and I’m pretty sure I accidentally discovered my new favorite spot. The place was packed, but the service didn’t suffer a bit. Our drinks never had a chance to get low, the food came out hot, and everything was delicious.
My grandson basically turned the spinach artichoke dip into a personal hobby, and the giant stuffed tater tots disappeared so fast you’d think they evaporated.
Even better, the place is way more wheelchair friendly than I expected. The bathroom was actually accessible, not “technically meets fire code if you turn sideways and hold your breath.” It made the whole night easier and honestly kind of impressive.
They’ve also got several huge TVs that look perfect for watching the game. It’s a pretty long drive for us, but the food and the whole experience were absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

So far, I have only had the appetizers, and have enjoyed them all. They were all very tasty, especially the nachos and the meatballs, and good portion sizes. Service was wonderful and owners are very friendly. Definitely will make this a regular place to go.

Don’t waste your time. It’s not a very comfortable atmosphere. The booths are small and the tables are way too close together. The food was not good at all. We went on a steak special night and the steak had a lot of gristle. Burger tasted like Walmart beef. Our waitress was very nice. However, the manager/owner with a beard dropped off the food and was incredibly rude. The menu says the steak includes the baked potato. I asked about it when my steak came without one. The manager/owner’s response was, “It comes with mashed. I’m not spending $1000 to change one word and reprint all the menus. If you want a baked potato, I’ll charge you $12 for it.” Wow. We will never be back. Avoid at all costs. Not worth the bad food and awful management.

It is still close enough to when the place opened that it is being visited by lots of people checking it out. Expect to find lots of people there and since not much of anything has been done for noise do not expect to be able to hear anyone that is not next to you. They have kept the early 20th century look inside. The menu items have ‘colorful’ names not much related to what they are, so expect to spend time looking over specifics, and asking questions. Friendly waiters, but they often forget what you have asked for since they are very busy. Food is good but I don’t find it excellent. Prices are high for a small town place. It will be interesting to see what it is like once the newness wears off.
