Located at the corner of Staples and Timbergate, BKK thai kitchen + bar is a stylish choice for classic Thai dishes. BKK’s interior, locally designed by SquareFoot Design Studio, reflects the hip sensibilities of the surrounding area while also paying tribute to Thailand’s coastal, cool environment. With options for both inside and pet-friendly outside dining, BKK offers the choice to enjoy the coastal weather, watch the art of sushi rolling, or witness mixologists design craft cocktails at the bar. The original location in Lamar Park Shopping center opened in July of 2017 by brothers Ryan and David Rios, BKK (airport code for Bangkok) was inspired by travels to Thailand and other countries. BKK South Side opened June 8, 2022.

Excellent Thai Restaurant! Delicious authentic Thai food in a very clean, modern, sleek looking restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pineapple Fried Rice with Organic Tofu, as well as the Pad Kee Mao with Chicken, and a perfectly smooth side of Green Curry. Very clean establishment; lots of stainless steel and silver; tastefully decorated; friendly staff; full bar; plenty of seating. Reasonable prices. If you have yearning for Thai food you will be very satisfied and happy to have made this choice!

Came for lunch for the first time at this location. The service was good and the servers were very attentive. The food came out and was hot and good. The water glasses hold about 6 Oz and with ice you get about 2 sips before you have to refill, fortunately they leave a water pitcher on the table, but that’s still ridiculous to have glasses that small. The place is very bright and well lit. The acoustics are horrible, there were only 3 tables with people when we were there and the place was still so loud it was tough to have a good conversation with your lunch mates. I doubt I will come back if for no other reason than how loud this place is.

I have not been here before , I know the decor is supposed to be modern , and I did not think it was anything special. It is very loud , there was a large party on the opposite side and we heard singing and all conversation, and the table by us had a very young child that was ear splitting screaming at one point , it was only for a few minutes , but that was enough . It is nice they put a carafe of water on the table , but the glasses are so small . What is the point ? Once you have had what would be a normal glass of water , carafe is empty. But our server Christina ( also the bartender) did keep a carafe on the table. We were the only table who did not have our food, and it seemed a long time to even get our soup and salad. I thought the “lunch” menu, which was a part of the overall menu, was a bit confusing, it did not state the chicken was what came with it for 12.50 and then all the other options were the ADDITIONAL cost , so even though I did not see the pork , sirloin or salmon , going by my plate it was not that much food for that much extra( up to $14.00 more) my garlic pepper ,broccoli chicken stir fry was good , but a major portion of the plate was uncooked Chinese cabbage , which I do like , but if it is going to be on my plate , at least stir fry it !! I had rice with mine and a salad , and the best thing was the peanut dressing. The crispy roll was more fried wrapper than any filling. So even though they have some interesting brunch items on Sunday , between how loud it was on a non crowded day and how long it took for food , I’m not sure if I will be back.

What a gem. We’ve been passing this place up for too long and finally decided to drop in. What an amazing space. Fantastic service but best of all amazing food. Had two drinks the Bubbly Buddha and the Tuk Tuk Express. Drinks were strong and tasty. The food we ordered was the Tom Kha Mussels. The broth was heavenly. So very flavorful. The moneybags were so delicious as well. For entrees we chose the Sizzling Beef and the Tiger Cry. Both amazing and portion was worth the price.

Food was good. Pad thai was not as authentic as I envisioned. Tom Kha was good but did not feel freshly made. Panang curry was really good. The noodles in our plates were overcooked and choppy. Thai teas was good. Theres a crunchy sushi roll that was really good. Palomas did not hit the spot at all. Too strong and missing taste and ingredients.

First time visiting BKK’s second location recently opened on Staples. We were greeted by a clean & stylish interior and had great service. The dishes we tried were EXCELLENT. The salmon curry was so flavorful, an 11/10. The pad Thai was tasty and reasonable priced. The Thai tea drink tasted just like the real thing. So happy to have this establishment in the southside!

Have ordered from them personally 24 times and dined with them 4 times since they have been open on the South side. Be aware they only have sushi when they feel like it. Have been turned down for sushi because it was “before 6pm”, or “they don’t feel like it”. Or “only on the weekends”. Food is usually pretty good, sometimes good portions, sometimes small. Very inconsistent. I know times are tough but this is not new, it is a pattern. I will continue to go back, I will continue to try to order sushi, but just don’t be surprised when they call you to inform you tonight’s not sushi night. Just wish consistency was there or they should get out of the sushi business. Tonight they were out of sushi, fried rice and subbed green beans for snow peas in my cashew chicken.
