Reviews
There are usually no issues with our dining experience but this time it was different.
First, I will start with this place is in a crazy busy shopping plaza, not easy to get in or out of, nor find parking.
When we arrived, I went to use the restroom, after I was done in the handicap stall, I leaned over and noticed the entire bottom of the toilet bowl was filthy dirty and black. Unsure if it was dirt, oil, grease, but gross regardless.
Lets start with our food. We ordered a kids meal with a side of broccoli, a spinach artichoke dip, and wings. The broccoli, dip and wings all came out disgustingly cold. Completely inedible so we sent it back.
In return, we got food, so hot, it was scorched. The broccoli was now wilted, the wings were over fried and dark while the dip was crunchy, dark and burned. Let us not forget the chips because those arrived burned as well. No food item was going to be spared during this visit to BJ’s.
Seems the kitchen was a little bitter the food was sent back.
Based on what I saw in the bathroom, if they dont care about the appearance of their toilets, they clearly dont care about the appearance nor taste of their food.
Service: the waitress was very kind, sweet and understanding. She worked with us the best she could. The manager came by, he was very attentive, kind and understanding as well. Thus the 5 star rating for service.
Not sure if the kitchen staff are new because this is a first for us, but definitely left unsure if we will return.

As always, it is a solid choice for casual dinner with friends. Today, we went for the BBQ ribs, chicken club sandwich, classic cheeseburger, strawberry salad, and a couple of flatbread pizzas. All of it was great. Happy hour prices and offerings are great too, we got the avocado rolls, our favorite, the potsickers were amazing, and the mozzarella sticks became the kids’ favorite. 7 dollar beers! 6 dollar margaritas!? Say less.
We ordered below items and indicated “must try” item as well.
Boneless wings
Side fries
New Orleans Jambalaya + — Must try
Chicken Alfredo
Chicken Pot Stickers
Deserts — Chocolate Chunk Pizookie — Must try
Drinks — Spicy Mango Margaritas — Must try
Overall — ambience also out of the box and you will enjoy with family and friends.
Must Go
However, the server never once checked on us after delivering the food and did not offer water refills or any other service. We ordered the Pazookie meal, so we expected the dessert to be prepared and delivered automatically, as it was included in our order.
After waiting for 40 minutes with no sign of our server, we finally managed to flag him down. When I asked about the dessert, he informed us that he wasn’t actually our server and only handled food running. This was extremely confusing, as he had been the only staff member to interact with us that evening—he seated us, took care of menus, utensils, and brought our initial waters. If he wasn’t our server, it was unclear who was.
He said he would check on the status of our dessert, but after that, we received no further communication. It became apparent that he was actively avoiding our table. After another 30 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave. We attempted to speak with the manager, but they were already dealing with another group who appeared to be having similar issues.
We noticed that many employees did not appear motivated or engaged. At one point, five staff members stood near the host stand without acknowledging us, and it took considerable time before anyone offered assistance. In the takeout area, one employee was on their phone, while another was resting her head on the counter.
Overall, the service was unprofessional and unacceptable. It’s clear that there are serious issues with staff training and management at this location. I hope this feedback leads to improvements for future guests.
Our server, Ali, greeted us warmly and provided outstanding service throughout our meal. I came specifically for the weekly $13 meal plus Pizookie deal, and I had to give it a try! I ordered the BJ’s Favorite Pizza, which is a delicious supreme pizza, along with a salad that came with ranch dressing on the side and although my salad did come dressed, I appreciated that it wasn’t overly drenched on the salad, and everything was served cold and fresh, which made it even better.
My partner chose the in-house beer deal—a refreshing Hef for just $5—and went with the burger. Both the food and service exceeded my expectations! A big shoutout to Ali for making our experience enjoyable.
If you’re considering BJ’s, definitely check out the current deals—take a look at the photos I’ve attached. It’s a great value, especially if you visit often!
