On Friday March 2nd, 2018, B&J Drive-In reopened with its fourth owners in the nearly 70-year history. Located in Saticoy, B&J Drive-In earned its name in the 1960s, when the restaurant was originally purchased by longtime Ventura County residents Bernice and Jim Jenkins. This place is an old fashioned Mexican-American fusion with classics such as corn burritos and hamburgers.
I ordered the corn burrito special (corn burritos are really flautas) and I also ordered the chili cheese fries and a soda. The total was about $20.
The corn burritos were good, perfect for a snack, they have a lot of melted cheese. In my mind it was a smart idea to pair those with some chili fries.
My only issue is that everything tasted as if the oil they fried everything with was stale or had been overused. It took away the good taste out of everything and left a nasty aftertaste of like old cooking oil.
I would like to go back on the days that i know they swap their cooking oil.

Love this place. Have been going here since the early 90s. My dad use to take my brother, sister and I. Now I go when ever I’m in the area. Can’t go wrong amazing burgers and fries. Highly recommend this place. The owner is very friendly and hospitable

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It is absurd how bad the quality of the food is. The old owners were AMAZING! These new owners are terrible don’t know what they’re doing. First I get an horchata that tasted like chile peppers, then I almost choked when I took a bite of my California burrito and I find an avocado pit inside. That could’ve ended very baldly. DO NOT GO! The bad customer service and food is horrible, for the price pshhh please. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

It’s a small shack like building with plenty of parking. It has roughly 6 tables that seat 4 comfortably and are located around the building itself. The cashier was very sweet and attentive. I told her it was my first time there and asked what she would recommend. She told me about items you can’t go wrong with, local favorites and her personal favorites. The items that stood out to me most were the tacos, burgers and corn burritos. I ended up getting the Old Fashion burger combo with fries, side of peppers, side of ranch and a cucumber lime agua fresca. Total was $20.03 which is pretty steep but the food was enough for 2 people other than the drink.
The burger was enormous and had homestyle flavors which was good. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, had mounds of bacon, crisp onion rings inside, two pattys, and homemade sauce. Overall really good burger, no complaints other than it was a challenge to bite into but that’s not a bad thing for me at least because I made it work.
The fries were crinkle cut, extra crispy, perfectly salted and golden.
The agua fresca was phenomenal. It was sweet, slightly tart and slightly sour. It went well with my food and was extremely refreshing. The slices of cucumber and shreds of cilantro was aesthetically pleasing and helped bring out the flavors of the drink.
I would definitely come back and try something new on the menu and especially a different agua fresca.

Alfredo and his crew run a great show. Their burgers and fries are one of my favorites. I also enjoy the chili dogs and their tuna sandwich is the best around IMO. The most popular item, the corn burritos, are top tier in Ventura County.
