We had a family meal and sat outside. Right away sensed that the waiters were trying but lacked professional training/example. The tables were plastic and not level. The dishes are plastic, and silverware is wrapped in your dollar store napkins. Gnocchi was undersalted and barely warm. The grits had the texture of mashed potatoes and lacked seasoning. We were never asked how we wanted the steaks cooked. The pie for dessert lacked any serious flavor, and the peaches should be cooked more to make them soft and more flavourful. Very mediocre food with the average dish costing $27.

Bizou has an interesting interior shaping, going from like a bottle’s neck entrance expanding into a larger bottle’s body for the dining area. I like that I can watch the preparation of the food (at the entrance at that). I experience good customer service during my visit; employees help me navigate the menu for Vegan options (the establishment is accommodating for Vegans as best as possible with the available options). I order a Black Bean Soup which is flavorful with varying spices and other small pieces of vegetables. The Black Bean Soup is thinner than thick though reasonably filling (a medium-light weight meal). The establishment takes different forms of payment.

The food here is phenomenal and do not forget to stay for dessert. From the extremely attentive and caring service to the ambiance of this restaurant. I could not have asked for a better place to spend my anniversary with my partner. Both dishes were cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. I wish I could have taken a picture of the dessert, but we both ate that the moment it was on the table. The movie posters and jukebox aesthetic give this restaurant a rustic feel without making the seating too cluttered. We will be coming back in the future as this spot is worth every cent!

We enjoyed the avocado toast and a braised beef biscuit along with a bowl of roasted pepper and tomato soup! Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. All of the wait staff and meal prep staff were professional and very attentive.

At exactly 8:05 we tried to have dinner at an upscale seafood restaurant on the downtown row, but incredibly they closed at 8:00 PM on a Saturday night—and they weren’t very nice about letting us know. So we wandered up and down the hill looking at menus. Then we came across Bizou—what a refreshing difference. Classy but not pretentious. Open and welcoming. Delightful servers vs grumpy hostess. Outdoor seating. Incredibly good chicken piccata and meatloaf…lager and wine. We had a wonderful dinner.

Small portions of chicken during restaurant week. The Gnocchi was terrible. Lamb croquettes were great. The plumb salad was good but the fruit was not ripe. The salmon in philo was good. Dessert, hand pies were over done with a tough pastry. The tiramisu was awful. We ordered a bottle of wine and they brought us a different blend but it was excellent. The young man serving us was very nice an attentive.

Had a lovely outdoor brunch with friends at Bizou recently. We got there right when they opened and although there was a bit of a line, we were seated quickly. The food was fantastic and the cocktail I got was even better. The staff was attentive and moved very quickly

As a former employee, I’ll never eat at this place. Not only did they keep fresh produce right next to the dish pit while activity washing dishes, I had seen them drop the pasta dough on the ground and then continue to use it not once, not twice but 3 times in 1 week. If you enjoy fine dining with a side of dish water and accompanying bacteria then this is a great place to dine

I ate at Bizou about two weeks ago with two family members and had a great experience. When we arrived, they said that there was a wait, but it ended up being only 5 minutes. Lol. They could have just told us that they were finishing bussing the table. We ordered two apps, one was the Brussels sprouts and like many of the reviews stated were delicious. We each ordered an entre and a dessert. I had the gnocchi with red sauce, and I have to say that it was the best, most tender gnocchi that I have ever tasted. The fish and steak that I tasted were also very good. For dessert I had a chocolate mousse/torte with a raspberry layer and I loved it. I was very impressed for my first visit and had such a great experience that I want to go back soon even though I live an hour away.

I have been to Bizou in the past and it was always a great experience. Tonight was horrible. The hostess seated us and brought water after a while. After we waited for 15 minutes, I had to find someone to ask where our server was. The waitress arrived shortly after that. She did not introduce herself. She asked if we could start with drinks. We told her we were ready to order because we had had plenty of time to review the menu (this comment went RIGHT OVER HER HEAD). No apologies for the wait, no typical banter, no describing the specials, no personality what so ever. The appetizers (pear salad and salmon croquettes) were good. We both ordered the steak for the entrée. I ordered medium rare. My friend ordered medium well. Neither steak was cooked properly ( both were overdone; mine was medium well and my friend’s was well done) and mine was quite tough. The “crispy potatoes” were greasy; and overall the presentation was not appetizing. The waitress never returned at any time during the meal to check on us, bring us water, ask if we needed any additional beverages, or ask how our meal was, etc. I walked to the bar to ask for a refill on my water. No one ever came around with a pitcher of water to refill glasses. There was quite a wait between taking our appetizer plates and the arrival of our main course. We were eating inside (patio was open), and it was not full when we arrived (2, 2 tops (including us) and 1 four top with 3 different wait staff working those tables. I don’t think they were short staffed as no one was showing the least bit of “hustle” to get things done. More tables arrived while we were eating, but it was never full. We noted that one couple close to us was waving and saying “excuse me” to get someone’s attention and the server just kept on walking. When our server came to take our plates and to ask if anything else was needed, we asked her for a to-go box. She brought one back and explained they only had big ones and then walked away. We waited for another 5 minutes and had to flag her down to ask for the check (we told her we were done, we got boxes for our leftovers and we have to tell her that we need the check? ) We observed her waiting on other tables throughout our meal and the only description that comes to mind is “space cadet” . She was not paying attention to anything going on around her; not at all attentive to the customers in the restaurant.
