I’ve never had New Orlean’s cuisine before and this has set a pretty high standard for me. I got the seafood gumbo, hot Cheeto boudin balls and strango. The gumbo was very filling with a very rich and sorta nutty(?) flavor. The boudin balls had a very satisfying crunchy exterior and soft interior with a creamy taste. I do wish it was a little more spicy (granted I have a somewhat high spice tolerance). Finally the strango was very refreshing and very sweet. Definitely excited to come back here someday.

Authentic New Orleans flavor and Southern hospitality at its finest!

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was full of charm, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food? Absolutely out of this world! Every bite tasted like it was made with love and soul.

The jambalaya and gator bites were seasoned to perfection, and don’t even get me started on the white chocolate bread pudding—light, fluffy, and covered in just the right amount of sugar.

If you’re in North Carolina looking for some New Orleans taste and looking for a spot that truly captures the heart and flavor of the city, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

We stumbled upon this place on Google and knew we had to try, there is not enough good Cajun out here. This is not just good it’s great. The service was amazing, Chef Martine & her daughters were so sweet. Food came out quick, even though it was Saturday night. We ordered boudin balls, seafood gumbo, a gator & shrimp po-boy, & the bread pudding. Everything was 10/10 and they had all the right hot sauces. Leaving right now and already planning when we can come back.

Good souls and great food!

I tried the beef yaka mein- it’s like a gumbo spaghetti. It was filling and definitely authentic to the one I tried in New Orleans a few years ago.

Crawfish eggrolls- small but the dipping sauce is like a sweet and sour jam with a little spice.

The seafood gumbo was my fav- no skimping on the meat and I loved that the roux wasn’t too dark so it didn’t mask the flavors. I may ask for extra rice next time.

The owner came out and spoke to another patron and I listened to her story. They’ve been in Charlotte for over a decade if not more and it sounds like they could’ve went anywhere in the city to open up this concept. I appreciate that she wants to stay in the community and build. I don’t think too much pops off since right across from CMPD but hey, it’s the Ford. ‍♀️ Improvements are coming to the interior but for now, enjoy the music and food!

I randomly stopped here while my boyfriend was getting his hair braided… and wow! Such a great decision on my end.

The seafood Gumbo was sooo thick and filled with actual meats!! YYUMMM! I almost fell out my chair!

You HAVE to try their strawberry mango half-and-half, aka their “Strango”!!!!
The Boudin Balls were soooo good that we went right back and got another order.
Same vibe towards their Lemon cake!!! I would say it’s the best Lemon cake in charlotte!

I WILL be back!! Catch me here!!!

The food here was absolutely awesome! The customer service was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend trying the gumbo, the beans and rice, and the strango — all were bursting with flavor. Everything was so good, I’ll definitely be coming back. 10 out of 10 across the board!

Everything was so good! The shrimp poboy was incredible. Red beans and rice are a must have. Honorable mention to the Chocolate cake. The icing was perfect and the cake was just right. They are gonna get sick of me. I’ll be back a lot!

First off let me say that I did not know this place existed and it came to me by recommendation of a friend after seeing someone else’s TikTok video. I’m usually open to trying new things and opted to give this place a try although I was skeptical.

This spot is located on Beatties Ford road in a strip plaza almost across the street from the police station.

At first entrance, you’ll think you’re entering a banquet hall of sorts as there is a small seating area at the very front. After you get past that section you enter a large area with lots of tables and chairs.

Now hear me out, that skating rink carpet threw me for a loop when I entered. I actually don’t like eating in any restaurant with carpet on the floors. This made me even more skeptical.

I perused the menu as if I didn’t check it out online before entering and was set that I was going to stick to appetizers.

I ordered 2 of the crawfish egg rolls (that damn guy from TikTok hyped it up so I went with it), gator bites, and the Strango lemonade.

Now, in the TikTok video, the egg roll that he had didn’t look like the ones I got. The egg rolls weren’t properly wrapped which did not provide the proper “grip” that you expect from an egg roll. Beyond that, the cabbage inside was severely overcooked and it lacked a crunch- everything was soft. I really did not see many pieces of crawfish but there was an overwhelming “fishy” after taste. I believe seaweed was added and that may have contributed to the taste. I also don’t believe that the sweet and sour dip properly accompanied the egg rolls. In the video I saw a cream based sauce and had that expectation and believed this may have been a better option. The cabbage needs some life, maybe a little crunch and not cooked soft, maybe add peppers and some other seafood to make it fuller and with that seafood taste without the overpowering “fishy” after taste. I felt a little kick but the eggroll fell short for me.

NOW, the egg roll make not have been wrappin’ but those gator bites were SLAPPING! Seasoned perfectly, lightly breaded and fried. That dipping sauce for the gator bites was delicious and maybe that can be the eggroll sauce. The sauce for the gator bites is really good and should be packaged!

I purchased the strawberry lemonade drink as well and it is decent; however if you have Sugar (diabetes) leave it alone because your numbers will be off the charts!

I did inquire about the location and received some information behind this location being more of a flex space and them operating in the kitchen space mainly. I do like the initiative behind this space and the space across the street so I will support them.

But please revisit those egg rolls because I was disappointed in what I received. Keep doing whatever it is that you’re doing to those gator bites, in fact- do the same to some chicken and you maybe on to something!

The food here us just consistently superb!! I have gone for both lunch and dinner, as well as used the for catering and am always for thrilled by how good the food is. Some of my favorites are the authentic New Orleans items such as the Gumbo, both the Vegan and original, the Red Beans and Rice as well as the YAKAMEIN! And don’t get me started on these delicious wings!!

Looking forward to going back next week!!!
