Pretty much everything you want out of a local style fish market/restaurant. Fancy it is not, you come here to relax and have a beer with great seafood by the marina. Wait staff is great, prices are low, location is just perfect. Fish is unloaded off the dock, to the restaurant. Those who grew up around the ocean understand the value of this place. This type of restaurant is few and far between here in Hawaii and I will come back every time I’m in Kona. Good job guys and thanks for the Aloha.

Now this is a place to go if you want to start your trip out to Hawaii on the right foot. Not only will it be tough to find fresher fish on the island but the good is great. Beer is beer and Hawaii has some of the best in the Country so do not order DOMESTIC!!!!

My Husband and I were interested in some sportfishing and Bite Me was the one all the locals recommended. They can cook your food for you in their restaurant…If you catch anything. Let me say first that the crew was very nice. Knew what they were doing on the boat and explained some dos and don’ts to us. My husband and I were very optimistic about catching something I mean Bite Me is rated the #1 fishing charter. We were excited about eating what we catch because Bite Me is the only charter that will let you keep and eat your fish. Well we didn’t use live bait we used lures. And for 2 hours after not catching anything they didn’t change them out for different lures or change to live bait. They stayed about within 3 miles of the shore and pretty much stayed in the same area going back and fourth. The only thing that didn’t make this trip being a complete flop was that we saw some dolphins. But I didn’t pay to see dolphins. I know sometimes you fish and don’t catch anything but atleast you change your bait or your position which they didn’t do. No one on our boat caught anything and they was 4 rods out. Maybe going to another charter would be better if you don’t care to eat what you catch. Look around for other charters. See what they have to offer first before going to Bite Me.

Great spot for divers/boaters/fisherman at the marina — it’s a bit off the grid, and that’s what made it real. The fish is super-fresh and really good. The lunch specials are a very good deal. The Macademia pesto panko-crusted fish-of-the-day is awesome.

Bite Me Fish Market is one of the only places in West Hawaii that you can get fish fresh off the boat. Great if you have friends visiting or want to sample mahi mahi, Marlin, or any of the fish the Big Island is known for. The good stuff gets sold pretty quick, so if you get there right after the boats get in, you have a good shot at the best fish!

We just took our 3 week Honeymoon to Hawaii in Sept 2013, and I have to say how utterly disappointed we were in this trip. We essentially took a 4 1/2 hour and $220+ “boat ride”. Oh.. they told us about going to the restaurant to cook up and eat all the fish we would catch…… however…..Not one bite on any line. No mention of offering a discount for another day or ANY offer whatsoever. In fact, the captain, Jeff, spoke only for a moment at the start of the trip… and came down to dock the boat at the end…. … and then put the rest of the trip in the hands of his kid. I can only guess that he is a teenager… i would be shocked if you told me he was over 17. No banter to lighten the mood from him, no conversation or entertainment from a CLEARLY bored 6 passengers…. we had to sit there and LITERALLY watch this kid picks zits on his arm. By FAR…. the worst fishing charter I have been on… and that’s BESIDES the fact we didn’t catch any fish. I will be telling any of my friends and family NOT to use this charter, and will be posting it on any and every social media i have available and every review site possible.

This is a bit of a locals den – and I can see why. Positioned between Kona and their airport this can be pretty busy around lunchtime.
Simple meals served fresh. It’s hard to beat the King Crab legs with melted butter – reasonably priced and always good. The fish taco is also a popular choice.
Every time we travel to Kona we make sure we pay this joint a visit. On the cheaper side of dining
