I went on a work Christmas do here and we all really enjoyed it. We did a pre order before hand, everything was all organised very easily. The food arrived quickly and there was enough space between courses. The decorations in the restaurant were really nice too. Table was clean and so were the toilets. Lots of choices on the menu and you could order off the Christmas and/or the normal which really helped me out as it gave me more choices with my dietary needs. All food was really nice.

Had Christmas Eve’s dinner there, scrumptious food and very attentive staff. We tried most of the dishes. Truffle fries didn’t taste truffle at all, Chicken Chardonnay was the best dish of the night, highly recommended. It was bit disappointing that few dishes were sold out in spite its Christmas eve, they should have been more prepared. Sirloin steak was below average. Sea bass dish was delicious. Starters were brilliant, we tried Gambas, crab, smoked salmon and chicken liver parfait and the parfait was out of this world. Desserts were okay nothing outstanding.

We were sat upstairs which was fairly quiet when we arrived but soon got busy. We were sat directly next to the toilets.
Unfortunately, our first server spoke so quietly that I had to guess what she was saying and I had to hope that she heard me telling her about my allergies. When the drinks arrived, the server spilt my drink as she put it on the table and it went all over the table and my lap. I had to clean it up myself using the napkins on the table which they didn’t replace. My steak wasn’t cooked evenly, half of it was cooked medium/well done, and then other half was cooked medium/rare as requested, strange.
We came here for our anniversary meal, but I wouldn’t return, however, the atmosphere is nice.

Unfortunately we did not have the best of experiences here. We ordered the 8oz rump steak and a French style cooked half chicken garlic buttered with fries. The chicken was simply chicken and chips (at over 17quid) and the steak was cold in the middle. Now the cut of steak was very good and cooked rare but cold in the middle (we appreciate it was very thick piece but the chefs should of considered this). The waitress was very attentive and did take some items off the bill. Sorry but will not be eating there again.

My husband brought me out for a Valentine’s treat, and once again Bistrot Pierre absolutely delivered. The atmosphere was gorgeous warm, relaxed, and full of lovely people, which made the evening feel really special.
The food was amazing as always. You simply can’t go wrong here. We visit regularly for the fantastic dishes and, just as importantly, the amazing people who make every visit feel welcoming.
Ashley and Jo were, as ever, the stars of the evening. They’re so attentive, friendly, and genuinely brilliant at what they do. Their care and warmth are a huge part of why we always recommend this place.

I recently revisited Bistrot Pierre after a long time and decided to try their Soirée Gastronomique evening, a six-course dining experience priced at just £26.95—an incredible value for money.
As it was my birthday, I had signed up for Club Bistrot Pierre, which gifted me a free bottle of wine. We opted for the red, and it was a lovely addition to the meal. On top of that, the app offered a free bread side, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, hot, and paired with amazing butter that melted perfectly.
The six courses were well-paced and thoughtfully curated. My favourite dish was the Camembert cheese with bread—rich, gooey, and indulgent. The full menu for the evening included:
1. Vegetable tortellini – A light yet flavourful start.
2. Baked Camembert – Absolute perfection with the bread.
3. Cod with potatoes – Cooked beautifully, simple yet satisfying.
4. Eton Mess-inspired dessert – Sweet, airy, and refreshing.
5. Cheese board – A well-balanced selection of cheeses.
6. Hot drink – A comforting end to a great meal (I didn’t take a photo of the tea)
For the quality and variety of food, £26.95 per person felt like an absolute bargain. The service could have been faster, but it was super busy!
The overall experience was fantastic, from the welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu. I’d highly recommend this evening for anyone looking to enjoy a tasting-style dining experience at a great price.

The best French cuisine in town! I ordered steak fries and onion soup-it tasted like a real Parisian bistro. All ingredients are fresh, the serving is excellent. I was especially pleased with the Menu Pierre, which offers excellent value for money. Be sure to try their desserts, the creme brulee just melts in your mouth. We will definitely come back!

I visited Bistrot Pierre while spending a few days in Derby and had a very positive experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the whole place feels well looked after. I want to mention the manager, Luiza, because she helped make the evening even smoother. I usually need to double check dishes due to a couple of food allergies, so I asked for some guidance. She immediately took it seriously, went through the menu with me and pointed out what was safe and what I should avoid. It was clear she knew the details well and cared about getting it right. Her confidence and attention made me feel comfortable from the start. Throughout the visit she checked in just enough to make sure everything was fine without interrupting the evening. Her manner was professional, calm and genuinely friendly. The food was great too. My main was cooked perfectly, full of flavour and nicely plated. Service overall was steady and well coordinated. If you are in Derby, I definitely recommend visiting Bistrot Pierre. Good food, a pleasant atmosphere and staff who treat guests with real care. Luiza in particular handled everything with a level of attention that made the whole experience feel effortless.
