Amazing atmosphere and great service. We were in doubt about 2 wines and had a nice help. The mussels and tartar were great and had quite nice quantity. We didn’t enjoy much the duck but the bavette was great. Creme brûlée was nice as well.

Had an amazing time at Bistrot Du Bac! The place has a super cozy, welcoming vibe and perfect for a relaxed night out. The staff was really friendly and on point, making sure we had everything we needed. But the most important aspect is the French cuisine. Everything was packed with flavor, and the wine pairings were spot-on. It all came together for an awesome evening. Definitely recommend if you’re in Rotterdam and craving some real French cuisine! However, I felt compelled to deduct one star due to an aspect of the service that made us uncomfortable. Upon being seated, our server immediately pushed us for champagne and oysters without presenting a menu or discussing pricing options. This approach feels somewhat pressuring, as declining without knowing the cost can be awkward in certain situations with certain couples or groups.
We believe that providing the menu upfront would allow guests to make informed decisions comfortably.
Overall, Bistrot du Bac offers a remarkable dining experience, and I look forward to returning. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as it aims to enhance the overall guest experience.

We entered with no reservation, the restaurant staff ( amazing waiter Zappa ) was very friendly and welcoming, we sat next to the kitchen (up) and watched the tables below and how Zappa and his colleague passionately took care of every single person and every table, we were convinced that Zappa is the owner of the restaurant. But he is not!

Authentic, high quality, and with perfect progression throughout the experience. a little bubble of La Douce France in Rotterdam! Bone Marrow, quality salts in the food. The Salt-shaker, that I suspect has normal kitchen salt, is not needed, so all is well. Very high quality bread, beautiful butter. Béarnaise with great subtle acidity. Did I mention the absolutely delicious Swiss chard / Spinach salted and creamed to perfection?
Absolutely recommended!

We had a lovely dinner with my husband at bistrot du bac yesterday. The food was really tasty, as a French person it’s great to have a restaurant with good quality French food nearby my house.
The service was really great they took special attention to suggest me pregnant friendly dishes which was greatly appreciated. Lastly the atmosphere is simply perfect, Cosy, intimiste perfect for a special night!

We went here yesterday evening. Perfect day to enjoy dinner outside. Its a nice little place with lively Katendrechtse surrounding. Service was outstanding, really caring. And the food was very well prepared. I had a small Egg appetiser, Foie Gras, followed by a Cote de Boeuf which was a massive rib-steak for two served with delicious bone marrow. As a dessert I had a taste of various desserts served and my favourite was the Tarte tartin (apple).
Obviously I didn’t go home hungry. Should have taken more pictures. Definitely recommend!
