I came across Bistro Éloise while searching for a place nearby, and I’m really glad I did. It’s in a shopping area with plenty of parking, which made things easy. I loved the décor and the lively atmosphere.

The host was friendly and welcoming, and we were seated right away. I was definitely glad I made reservations because the place was packed. Service was a little slow, possibly because they were short-staffed, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The escargot, French bread, and beef bourguignon were delicious and well worth it.

I’d happily go back.

The place while intimate is also open and airy. The escargot and beef bourguignon is really good. The portion sizes are New York sized which is great. The bread was amazing as well. We will be back to try the octopus, butternut squash soup, steak and frites, and creme brulee. Crowd is a mixture of families, couples, individuals, and friends. The outdoor area is enclosed so there is room there as well. For a Monday night the place was hopping so you should make reservations.

An unexpected gem in East Elmhurst! We werr randomly looking for a place to eat last night and chanced upon Bistro Eloise in East Elmhurst. We were delighted to enjoy such great French bistro dishes. We had the French onion soup, baby scallops, grilled octopus special, and escargot, the steak au poivre and endive salad. Everything was delicious. And the service was top notch. Our server and the manager were very sweet and super attentive to is and the other guests. We will definitely come back!

We chose this place to celebrate our 3rd anniversary and, while the food was very good, the overall experience did not fully meet our expectations.

I made a reservation in advance and specifically mentioned that it was a special anniversary night, hoping for a bit of attention to detail. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were seated at a regular table with no special setup or decoration.

Service was slow at the beginning — it took around 10 minutes for someone to approach us, and an additional 10–15 minutes to receive the champagne we had ordered. The server also came across as a bit rude at first, which immediately lowered our expectations for the night.

That said, the food was genuinely good. We ordered the filet mignon, octopus with chorizo, onion soup, and shrimp. Everything tasted great, with the filet mignon being the standout dish of the night.

Overall, the food quality is there, but the service and attention to special occasions need improvement. With better hospitality, this place could easily offer a much better experience.

This little French bistro tucked away in the corner of a little shopping plaza was the best choice that we made on a random Thursday. Let’s start with the server he was absolutely superb, extremely attentive, caring and thoughtful.

Next let’s move on to the food. We ordered three appetizers. Firstly the baked brie was incredibly amazing, cutting into it the brie oozed out and paired perfectly with the honey and the balsamic. It was a wonderful combination probably our favorite dish of the day. Next was the mussels. They were tender and sweet to the taste, extremely fresh!! Lastly for the appetizer was the escargot a classic French cuisine. The escargot was fresh and the parsley garlic oil was to die for. Dipping the bread in the parsley garlic butter had my taste buds dancing all over the place. For the 2 entrees we got the boeuf bourguignon and the le cassoulet. The boeuf bourguignon was amazing, tender, flavorful, where it all fit together like a glove. Lastly the le cassoulet was great. The duck was fall/pull apart tender and paired perfectly with the white beans.

For the pricing for a French restaurant we thought it would be expensive, but the prices were actually fair.

Will definitely come back to try more dishes!!

My husband, my son, and I dined at Bistro Eloise on Valentine’s Day, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
The restaurant was busy, which we expected on a holiday, but the level of disorganization was unacceptable. My son ordered the filet mignon, only to be told they had ran out of it. We then waited nearly an hour for our appetizers and almost another hour for our main courses. The staff repeatedly blamed the delays on it being a holiday and being understaffed, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of preparation or communication.
What made the evening especially upsetting was overhearing a staff member (a petite French woman) make a demeaning comment about the kind young man clearing tables because his English isn’t strong and he is Hispanic. That was deeply inappropriate and unprofessional.
While the food itself was good, the service was chaotic, inefficient, and inattentive. Staff appeared disorganized and seemed to be walking in circles rather than effectively managing tables. Given the high prices, we expected a much higher level of professionalism.
Sadly, we will not be returning.

For the first time ever I’m kind of confused how to really grade this place.
Some of the dishes are perfection, while others are so far from French cuisine. The tartare for instance, I asked what ingredients were in it and I was told ketchup along with other things that I can’t remember because as soon as I heard ketchup, I was turned off and avoided it all together. The French onion soup also left so much to be desired and lacked flavor. The beef bourguignon was delicious along with steak. Both dishes cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Then you move on to desert and $13 for a crepe without a filling and just some fruit on top is just way over priced for what it is. Other places at least fill it with canned whipped cream to be cheap and still give you a “filling”. I don’t know? Just a very strange place. It’s like they kind of understand French food but also don’t at the same time? It was very hit or miss like there are two different chefs in the kitchen and one is French and the other is like from another planet and is trying to understand what French food is. I have no problem paying for quality but I just don’t think this has the quality for the price. This place isn’t bad but I also wouldn’t say it was great and you have to give it a try. It’s a good attempt at French food given the areas I wouldn’t say Queens is really known for French food but for more authentic places or even places that are at least somewhat decent when it comes to French-American Bistro, I wouldn’t go here. However, given that some of the food was great, I think 3 out of 5 stars is fair. The main reason why I deducted a star is because the service was so slow and it was not busy. I guess they added the Parisian touch of making you wait forever to get the servers attention.

We dined here for my daughter’s birthday in September. The food was exceptional especially the seafood which was delicious including scallops, mussels and octopus. Desserts topped off a beautiful meal. The service and the staff were friendly and attentive.
We will make sure that we will dine here again on our next visit from Australia.

Visited this restaurant yesterday 7/28/24 for the first time. The exterior of the restaurant may not be appealing when you get there, but as you walk in, you will experience the magic of the food the service and the music. Everything was perfect and Lorali is an exceptional and awesome waitress. I must return and recommend ❤️.
