We came for a birthday brunch, and had the best foods and time there. The foods came out pretty fast. All the dishes that we selected were delicious , and so we’re the desserts. The restaurant chain customer relation manager was at the restaurant today, came to greet us. He also gave coupon for a free appetizer at our next visit. Our waitress was attentive. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and families as well as come here again ourselves

This was my second French restaurant in DC in the same day, and can easily say this was the better one. I’ve been to Paris several and the food is just as good if not better. The escargots as a starter just blew me away! The garlic butter flavour was on point and it was clearly the best I’ve ever had. The Coq au vin was just as good with a nice sear on the chicken, and the veggies with lardons complimented the dish well. For dessert, I got the Chocolate Soufflé and my expectations were not as high given the lower price tag compared to other places. I was clearly mistaken because OMG this was the second time I was blown away, like dayum…the texture was silky smooth and I was pleasantly surprised with the side of Crème Anglaise Sauce which just elevated the dessert to a whole different level. The service however seemed rather distant though not rude in any way; the server probably just wanted to get through the evening.
Overall in terms of the food alone, I was more than satisfied.

I was looking for a non-traditional lunch and decide to walk across the street to Bistro Du Jour, a French-inspired restaurant from KNEAD Hospitality + Design and nestled inside the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The lunch menu runs from 11:30am to 4pm on the weekdays. The Fromage platter was an inviting starter and the Salade Verte was filling though it’s considered an appetizer.

HORS D’OEUVRES
– Salade Verte (with Salmon): 5/5

FROMAGE
(Baguette, Fig Jam, Dried Fruit, Honeycomb)
– Fourme D’Aubert: 4/5
– Comte. 18 Month: 5/5

I went to Bistro Du Jour with my friend for dinner on Thanksgiving evening. This was one of the very few restaurants in DC that was open and offering g the full menu beside the set Thanksgiving menu. We were so glad we chose this place – we were greeted by the front door staff with so much pleasantries and the service throughout was beyond exceptional.adding to that, the food and cocktails were just amazing! We ordered the trout (special menu item) and a tequila+grapefruit cocktail. The food was so fresh and yummy. They brought a complimentary appetizer (hummus with cucumber and some other things that made this tasty concoction) and also a Creme Brûlée dessert. That was such a pleasant surprise and we loved the entire experience! I will be back for sure!

Perfect place for a long layover. The French onion soup was perfect. Very friendly bartenders and host! We looked like hell, but they seated us and our bags all the same. The hospitality was greatly appreciated

Escargots were very tender but a little too salty. Set lunch of skirt steak is very value for money and tastes. Just a little overdone. Best to get medium rare! Excellent service!

Amazing food, posh decor, and the friendliest staff. Cappuccino was perfect and the French toast is a can’t-miss breakfast treat!

Bistro Du Jour had excellent brunch. This was our first time eating a French breakfast cuisine and it didn’t disappoint.

We ordered a hot tea and icetea. Our orders were Oeufs Au Plat, Parfait De Yaourt, and Paris- Brest Au Saumon Fume. The food was soft, fresh, flavorful and very filling.

My order was the Oeufs Au Plat. The grilled sourdough bread was so soft and chewy. The toasted almonds and granola were enough, moray sauce was juicy,,Sunnyside egg melted around gave a great taste matched with the sautéed mushrooms.

My husband had the Paris-Brest Au Saumon Fume. He commented how incredibly soft the croissant was and everything included, Salmon too, was delicious.

We shared the Parfait De Yaourt. A taste of sweet, tart, and great end to our brunch.

Service was on point and friendly. A 20% gratuity is already hoing to be added to your bill. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and what I would imagine if I were in France. Thank you for your helpful service, Stella.

My wife and I walked around the down town when sudden rain was about to start. So, we popped in the Bistro Du Jour to hide from the rain and have some snack. A guy who served us was very friendly, but, after bringing my burger, he suddenly disappeared. My wife kept patiently waiting for the soup. After a few minutes, a lady (a manager?) came to us and apologized for the server who had already left due to some emergency. She asked us about my wife’s order and apologized again because the soup was over. Then, she offered us to choose something else instead and told us that due to the inconvenience we didn’t have to pay for my wife’s order. Moreover, she was extremely polite and brought us some French delicacy as a treat to make her apologies more tangible. It was delicious! At the end, what was looking like a disaster at the beginning became a delightful evening.
I would definitely recommend everyone to visit the place to try the food there and to have an outstanding service.

I had an incredible vegetarian dinner at Bistro du Jour! The appetizer salad with little gem lettuce, grapefruit, radishes and avocado was dressed with a perfectly balanced lemony dressing. The braised leeks with lentils were to die for – simply fabulous! I finished my meal with the mango and passionfruit sorbet – a generous scoop of perfect deliciousness. The staff was exceptional too – personable and also very, very good. The maitre d’ was warm and welcoming, and the decor was lovely. Oh, and the wine and beverages list has something for everyone, even those looking for NA delights. Strongly recommend!!
