This occasion: fantastic food, poor service.
When spending at or over $100 on dinner for two, one expects a certain level of service–this is common sense.
Two-stars are given solely because the food in and of itself was completely without fault. Three stars were lost because of our waitress.
Waitress spent ~15min at a table of male guests conversing about everything under the sun–would she would pick a spouse based on their owning a swimming pool or wine cellar, the guests’ thoughts on picking up girls at bars, and I would go so far as to say outright flirtation–all while my date and I were waiting for her to swing back around to order our dessert.
What she did was disregard her job, and completely act as an individual, not a part of a machine. Being that she was one of at most two individuals waiting tables upstairs, she should have known better and been able to maintain professionalism, cutting away from superfluous conversation and avoiding the neglect of her other tables.
I admit that I enjoy conversing and interacting with restaurant staff, they have a hard job and should be praised. I wanted to express my appreciation to the chef for his preparation of the meal, but when she swung by to ask how the meal was, she walked away Before I could answer her.
If it were not for the fact that my date specifically asked me to refrain from telling the waitress how disappointed I was with her performance, I would have said something to her then and there. Moreover, had I been under any other circumstance, there would have been absolutely no tip left for her; however, I realized that to leave with an empty tip would reflect poorly on us, as we have visited this restaurant before and plan to continue making the drive from Provo, a tip for her subpar service would go miles.
I will never set foot into this place again without a reservation, and advise those reading this to do the same. I hope that a reservation receives far greater customer service.

The Bison Burger was incredibly good, shoestring fries with lots or garlic also on point, I’m sure you could order them without garlic if you wanted. Service was great, very nice staff without being annoying. Bathrooms very nice. It is pretty tiny in there which I didn’t love but the rustic decor was charming.

A nice casual place to dine. The upper level has a decent sized bar with sports televisions and table seating. Excited to play a round of shuffle board before our appetizers arrived. Both appetizers and entrees were very good. I ordered the duck and it was delicious! Other orders from our group included a pork roast dish, mac and cheese, and french onion soup. The only disappointment was the small size of the scallop and shrimp entree. We had a very pleasant time.

I did not know what to expect when I walked into this restaurant. However, I quickly learned what this establishment wanted its patrons to feel. If you are not a snob who wants to pay $$$ for very little food and didn’t call ahead 2 days in advance to book a reservation, then you are not welcome here. The host was one if the rudest people I met in Utah. The only reason we stayed was because the bartender upstairs was bearable. They lost our order due to “printer problems”, but at least made my drink free. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Service was horrible. Not impressive at all. I ordered a bison burger, they overcooked it. My girlfriend ordered the Smoked Chicken Croissant which was supposed to be “tossed” in pesto.. However the sandwich was drenched in pesto and it completely ruined the sandwich. I couldn’t believe the amount of pesto on that sandwich. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and claustrophobic. The chairs were extremely tiny. Won’t be going there again.

Was OK, service a little slow (I think the kitchen was backed up). Appetizers were good. Had the mac and cheese which is under the small plates but the size was actually pretty big. My friend had the cod plate and it was way too salty. Overall OK, but there is better on Main Street.

After have waited 50 minutes for our food we still were missing a side dish, we then had to wait another 15 minutes to receive it. Following the dinner, my friends and I received our checks, after one friend had paid he insulted us by telling us how rude it is to tip less than 15% he continued to get change for the last two checks and kept a tip thought he deserved(which really is theft) the food was decent but we will never be back. We can find much better for the same overrated prices and receive better customer service.

When it comes to Park City, I’m sort of a snob. When I’m up there I’m most likely the least wealthy in whatever venue I happen to be in. I’m wearing the cheapest clothes, and am usually the shortest. But that’s why I like Park City. Being around people who are traveling, people who are educated and successful, people who are celebrating and people who are in general at a better point in their lives than I am my own. It’s inspiring. But my star struck mood aside, Bistro 412, regardless of it’s location and array of beautiful patrons, is a great location. There’s many restaurants and bistros to choose from in Park City, all of which are pretty damn good. But that does not downplay the greatness of Bistro 412. We sat on the sidewalk in the beautiful weather as live music played across the street. Our server was very kind, as was the manager who came by to introduce herself. We got our drinks, which were delicious, and shared an appetizer. It was mushrooms, feta cheese, a balsamic glaze on top of French toast. It sound eclectic, and it is, and it was DELICIOUS. So often I find people trying to make odd fusion dishes to appeal to a hipster crowd, and often it’s flash over substance. But this appetizer looked good, sounded good, and overall, it TASTED good. So the service was great, the food was great and the drinks were great. What a fantastic day! We should have ate full meals, but there were 4 other places I wanted to try out and didn’t want to fill up on the first one. I got my fill of the success and potential that is Park City. But for now, I head back to Salt Lake, filled with delicious foods and joy of what may be down the road.

My wife and I joined a few others for the Savor the Summit event last night at Bistro 421 and I have to say we were disappointed. The biggest disappointment was the food portions. When you spend $100+ per person and you need to stop somewhere else on the way home to get more food, that’s a problem. I estimate with the 4-5 course meal, I ate the equivalent portion size of a hamburger. It was evident the restaurant was targeting significant profits for the night based on the hype of the event versus introducing new customers to its food and earning repeat customers.
Other disappointments were the long wait times between portions (1+ hours wait between the salad and main course), everyone’s salad missing dressing, the lamb chops were extremely fatty and undercooked, the donut balls were doughy and undercooked, and waiting in line to check in.

Walked in and we were greeted by two hosts that were awesome and friendly. They let us pick where we wanted to sit and then the trip went downhill.
Daun was our waitress and extremely rude. I was asking about the bottled beers that are full strength, which in Utah, it is already is clear it’s over 4%. What I asked was what was the alcohol content of the imperial stout they had here. She stated it was full strength. I said that I understood that, as it was under the full strength beer section, but asked again the alcohol content. She treated me as if I had no idea what I was talking about and reiterated it’s full strength. I ordinarily would have walked out at this point, but did not as the company I was with wanted to stay.
I decided not to order any drinks from here, but went across the street to the bar Rockin Riley’s for a few drinks before my food was served and came back, as the service was painfully slow. With so many other amazing choices in Park City, do yourself a favor and don’t go here.
