We were driving home to Florida from West Virginia on Valentine’s Day. Once we hit I-95 I searched for a nice dinner spot for me and hubby. This one came up along with a few others. We chose Bistro 221 and so happy we did. From start to finish it was amazing. We were kindly greeted and seated promptly. We told him of our long travels on Valentine Day and had choose them to have our dinner. He let us know of the Valentine special. We were then greeted by our server Katie who was amazing and pleasant throughout the entire time. Filet minion (be’arnaise sauce) fingerling potatoes, mixed veggies and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Also a “love letter” martini ❤️It was ALL delicious, perfectly cooked and totally worth the stop. I’m sure that’s not always available but it’s a must stop for a great atmosphere and pleasant staff. Also, I watched the owner (I believe) pay attention to detail. It’s been a long time since I have seen anyone care that much. He was checking the glasses to make sure they didn’t have spots. He was pleasant to the staff and customers from my observation. Nice to see that

This place is an absolutely shining star in the middle of a quaint little town. We were traveling through and ran into some terrible weather. Wife and I were both hungry, so in true foodie fashion decided to check what local fair was available. We were so happy to have found this beautiful spot, the decor was comfortable and warm, and we love the esthetics of exposed brick walls. The food was exceptional and our server (Courtney) was attentive, kind, and smiled throughout our dining experience, she was wonderful. Now on to the DRINKS, the bartender (Jesse) was a true mixologist and I had one of the best old fashions I’ve ever had. He brought the drinks to our table himself, and was very kind and had the warmest demeanor. He invited us back for dinner for an even better experience. We cannot wait to return. Owners, if you see this review, give our regards to your staff, they are the true gems of this establishment.

Traveling from Florida up to Charlotte NC and jumped off the highway for a late 2pm lunch. So glad we looked online and didnt stop right off of 95. We found the bistro and really enjoyed the small hometown feel. Ran into a very nice group of 8 ladies playing bridge that checked on us where very friendly. Great embassadors for the town. Highly recommend stopping at Bistro 221.

Bistro 221 is a true hidden gem. Housed in a gorgeous restored brick building, the space strikes the perfect balance between cozy chic and versatile charm. The upgrades are clearly well thought out—this is a spot that could easily transform into a formal venue, yet it’s just as comfortable for a dressed-down, small-town family dinner.
The food did not disappoint. We started with the deep-fried catfish pieces, which were light, crispy, and full of flavor. My husband ordered the salmon with vegetables—cooked beautifully—and I enjoyed the Bistro Burger with fries, extra crispy just as I requested. Every dish arrived hot and fresh. To wash it all down, the beer was perfectly cold, and my husband gave two thumbs up to the sweet tea.
Service was another highlight. Our server, Ms. Courtney, was spot-on: warm, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and experience offered.
Frankly, I’m amazed this place isn’t packed more often. Bistro 221 deserves to be buzzing every night. In fact, Hollywood should take note—this place could easily be a filming location with its character and charm.

The place was great…server was handsome young man, professional and friendly. The food was served hot. I ordered a no-bread Philly Cheesesteak over sweet potato fries.

Best meal we’ve had in a while! The catfish bites were amazing! Seasoned well and fried to perfection. I had the Philly cheesesteak. I have no idea how it compares to an original Philly and that wasn’t what I was going for anyway. It was very fresh and tasty. Soft bread, colorful peppers, perfectly seasoned meat. My wife had the buffaloed fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Both were delicious. She doesn’t often like what she orders out, but raved about this sandwich and the catfish bites for hours. Our server, Katie, was knowledgeable, fun, efficient, friendly and kind. 5 stars all around! Will definitely go back!

Bistro 221 did not disappoint!!! A fantastic burger, Courtney was absolutely awesome, and provided great service! Even with a large party upstairs, they still provided quick and efficient service, with awesome hospitality. The drinks and on tap craft brews were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the fried pickles and the fried zucchini. It is just a pinch further from the interstate than the normal fast food fare, but so, so worth it. If you get the chance, check them out!!!

It is a bit of a drive depending on where you live, but so worth it. It’s Saturday at 7pm and we are in a window seat with our car on the other side of the window. I love small town USA. The food was excellent and the service was great. My wife had the burger and I had the killer club and we had fried pickles as an appetizer. The portion sizes were large and the atmosphere inviting. I dont normally leave reviews but this place needs to be recognized! Come visit Bistro 221!
