Tonight was the 4th time my wife and I have dined at Bistro 135, and we have been delighted every time. Earlier meals were more intimate (twice for Valentine’s Day), this time we came with a larger group for her birthday. Every dish was remarkably good and distinctively unusual without being pompous, and the service was exceptional. (Every recommendation we got from our server Katelyn was perfectly chosen.) Great balance of pleasant music while still allowing easy conversation. My only regret was that there wasn’t a truly exceptional, more expensive wine for the occasion; the wine list is very good (and affordable), but not great – it would be nice to have something to reach for when the occasion called for it.

Overall, a decent choice. We went with splitting three appetizers since they were more reasonably priced and more appealing. The shrimp tacos (a special) and the sliders were both very good, but the crab cakes left something to be desired. Good atmosphere and not as pretentious as would be expected from the menu and descriptions.

Our board had a dinner in the downstairs area last week. All of us really enjoyed our meals. I am a chicken french lover and theirs was excellent. Also, the bread pudding was perfect–creamy with a crisp top. Recommended!

EXCELLENT food and event experience!!!! My husband and I have long been fans of this restaurant for it’s jazz and food experience but we hired them to host our wedding reception this October and we were once again amazed at this GEM of a restaurant!!! Chelsea, the General Manager, her staff, and Chef Billy provided not only the FINEST in customer service but exceptional food and reception venue environment. They catered to our requests without fail, worked within our budget, and the result was a fantastic reception and environment that guest after guest complimented on as “tremendous, best reception EVER, and excellent venue”! Personally, we have dined at many 4 and 5 star restaurants around the east coast, and Bistro 135 delivers in a 5 star capacity. My husband and I recommend Bistro 135 without hesitation and an experience that you are not likely to forget!!! Lastly, in a world where excellent customer service seems far and few between, look no further than Bistro 135 for an example of how to make customers feel exceptional!!!

Excellent service, great music and atmosphere, and all around good food. Highly recommend the duck and the creme catalane, only critique is that the scallops were over salted. Over all it was a lovely dining experience, and I wish I lived close enough to come back soon.

We absolutely love this restaurant. They have some of the best fusion cuisine in Rochester, with excellent music and wonderful service. Give it a try, I recommend sharing 4-5 different appetizers. You won’t be disappointed!

we have eaten there at least 6 times. the food is always great!! the jazz is good. but ask to sit in the side room or outside if you want a quieter spot to talk. will definitely go back again.

We made a reservation online for Wed 2-25-15. We found we were running a bit late. I called to let them know we would be 20 minutes late- got an auto-attendant message stating the hours of operation and directing me to the web for reservations (or I could leave a message for a reservation). We arrived to find that the restaurant is closed for two weeks for maintenance. It seems it would be a good business practice under such circumstances to a) change the auto-attendant message to notify callers that the place is temporarily closed and b) temporarily suspend on-line reservations.
