First off, the service bread was warmed up; this alone is a big plus! It turns me off when restaurants serve cold bread. Our server was friendly and attentive and catered to all our requests.
We ordered the calamari, grilled salmon, and the chicken parmigiana. The calamari was tender, lightly breaded, and not overly seasoned, which I like. The salmon was grilled to perfection and tasted fresh. I didn’t get to try the chicken but my husband loved it because it’s not heavily breaded.
The place was 80% full when we were there but we were served promptly and we didn’t feel rushed. It’s a great place to have dinner with someone you love.
The first night Sabrina was my server and she was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, Filet Mignon and Creamed Spinach and everything was amazing. The steak was cooked beautifully and was perfectly lean. I just wished for 8 oz it was a tad larger.
The second night Jeanne was my server and she was warm, friendly and very attentive. I opted for the special soup of the day which was the creamed sausage with white bean. For my main I got the Branzino and everything was flavorful and delicious.
The restaurant in spite of it sitting in the middle of a casino is very striking. It may seem a bit dim, but that didn’t bother me. They have a decent menu and the pricing is fair. I also liked the bread for the table and the little tasting from the chef.
I will definitely hit this place up again the next time I stay at the resort.
We came here on time for our reservation, but they were busy and it took us at least 15mins to get seated. The receptionist here felt like a no non-sense person and just asked us to sit on the side, which was weird for me and then we had to wait for a few minutes to get our table. This start made me question our choice for our anniversary dinner venue, but once seated we were served by our lovely server Jeanne. She was so pleasant and greeted us which so much care. Upon telling her about our dietary restrictions, she spoke with the chef and made changes in the dishes as per our requirements and gave us really delicious and hot food. They were busy that evening but since our reservation was towards their closing time, they didn’t rush us to leave.
We ordered their rigatoni pasta without meat, it was delicious. The risotto was the highlight and was so well cooked.
Their on the house bread was fresh and warm and also the butter that came with it was so creamy and tasty.
I just wish they get the price down , $25 or more for pasta feels a little too rich. If I am paying that much then I expect every dish to be spot on and perfect, and the pasta lacked a bit of seasoning to me although other two dishes were delish.
We were full in just this that we were contemplating if we should order any dessert but I am so glad we did. We tried their Pistachio ricotta cake and I must say it’s one of the best desserts I have tried. The pistachio flavor was so spot on that it didn’t feel they used any essence (even if they did), they sweetness was also just right. If I ever cross this area or plan to come to Poconos, I am definitely taking a to go order of this. Kudos to the server Jeanne and the chef for serving us delicious food. We had a lovely anniversary dinner at this restaurant.
The food was very good, my wife’s mushroom ravioli was excellent, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. My steak came out a little more cooked than I prefer, but it wasn’t a major issue.
What truly stood out, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make things right without hesitation. The manager handled everything with professionalism and genuine care, which says a lot about how they run the place.
Because of the way we were treated, I would absolutely come back. Great service makes all the difference, and they nailed it.
My husband dish was the lasagna and the cheese was chared in several places the sauce was burned at the sides and the bottom. The dish tasted bitter.
The service: it took a really long time to get a basket of bread and the waiter stopped by my table once after serving the me.
Eventually, a manager was able to speak to us. He offered another meal but I lost my appetite already. The lemon KILLED my taste buds.
Anyway maybe at the pizza restaurant I can get something better to eat.
Steamed clams in Fra Diavolo and spaghetti pommodoro
Sabrina didn’t describe the rigatoni special very well only as rigatoni with sauce and peas. Not until we heard from another server, Eric, who thoroughly described the sausage in that dish! My oysters were great. My husband’s crab cakes were bready not worth $24. His veal was delicious and tender. However my filet was tender but over salted. Couldn’t finish it!
My husband asked for a glass of Malbec and was told they didn’t have it. Yet another table was offered it.
So disappointed in a top notch restaurant. I guess Being in a casino quality doesn’t matter. Also it took an hour to get our dinner!
The host: very polite, friendly, and welcoming. He even pulled our table out so we could sit down comfortably.
The waitress: was a bit disheveled, not very well put together, and not present.
It felt like she was always rushing and overwhelmed. She also put in the wrong appetizer for us (a more expensive one) but she did make it up to us by adjusting the price to the one we actually ordered.
She never tried to make convo and never asked if there was an occasion.
We got the Bronzino (filleted) and the 8oz Angus Center cut Filet Mignon with a side of creamed spinach.
The creamed spinach was phenomenal-best we’ve had.
The fish was buttery and perfectly, lightly cooked. We ordered the steak Medium but it came Medium-well. Not usually a big deal but when they charge premium prices and don’t include any sides, one would expect a perfectly cooked steak.
We didn’t feel like making a fuss because it was a bday dinner but I encourage the next person to make a fuss and get what you paid for.
Overall, it was just an ok experience. Nothing to write home about.
A star off because of it being overpriced for the quantity of food & the waitress not being present and welcoming.
