This may be the best restaurant in Denton County. If this were in Highland Park rather than Highland Village the Dallas food critics would write glowing reviews of it.
We came in mid December to celebrate two birthdays. We had been twice previously.
We ordered crab cakes, caprese salad, crab soup. My wife had the lobster and I had the cioppono. We ordered a cheesecake for dessert which they surprisingly complimented.
Atmosphere and service are first rate. A real gem in south Denton county.

I met Chef Salerno while volunteering with Mercy Chefs after the catastrophic floods in Kerrville, Texas in July of 2025. He left such a lasting impression on me that I made it a goal to visit his renowned Italian steakhouse. On October 23, 2025, I finally had that opportunity. My group of eight ladies was treated like royalty, Chef Salerno personally presented three exquisite appetizers, describing each one with passion and care. From the moment we walked into Bistecca – An Italian Steakhouse, we were greeted at the door with genuine warmth and professionalism. The service throughout the evening was seamless—attentive without ever being intrusive—and truly set the tone for a remarkable dining experience.
Our server stood out immediately for his deep knowledge of the menu and ability to guide us through it with helpful, thoughtful recommendations. When we discussed dessert, he explained how everything was made from scratch and even let us know ahead of time that if someone ordered the cake, he would walk it by our table so we could see it. That attention to detail and transparency added a fun and personal touch—and yes, it definitely convinced us to order it!
He also went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable table outside to enjoy cigars after our meal, and throughout the evening, he and the entire team delivered incredible service without us even realizing just how well we were being taken care of in the moment.
Each dish we ordered was absolutely delicious; you can tell it was expertly crafted and each dish was well-portioned. Given the level of hospitality and culinary execution, it’s genuinely surprising that this restaurant isn’t rated higher than four stars by some reviewers. Bistecca easily offers some of the best service we’ve experienced in the DFW industry.
I highly recommend Bistecca to anyone looking for not just a great meal, but a complete and elevated dining experience. This is a place where every detail matters.

Made reservations for our 3 year wedding anniversary and I am so glad we did! This please is perfect for a romantic evening/date night. The food was AMAZINGLY delicious and the service was outstanding! Carmen was our waitress and she was so pleasant and attentive. Of course we ordered more that we could eat, but I forced myself to finish our meal (portions are great) and took some dessert home to munch on the next day. I highly recommend the snapper! My husband enjoyed his steak and him and I could not get enough of the crab fingers appetizer (we ordered two). The lychee martini was strong, but so smooth! Couldnt have asked for more for our anniversary dinner. We will definitely be back for date night!

This venue was a bit of a drive for me but it’s what the birthday girl wanted. I’d say the curb appeal is very basic but once inside you’re met with a traditional Italian style restaurant with lots of tables, white linens, and nostalgia.
I ordered the lamb chops medium-rare, which was good. Only wished they had a nice char on them which would have made them perfect. There’s something about a nice crust with tender middle!
Not sure I will return, but Bistecca is a solid restaurant.

From the moment I sat down, I remembered our server named Alex from the previous time we ate here. She remembered us and was very friendly. The community here is also incredibly welcoming, and the staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about creating a positive environment for everyone. Overall I will always come back here and will always remember this server!

Everything about this restaurant was spectacular. I was so surprised to see they don’t have a dress code, because if any place should require it, it’s this one. Eddie L, our waiter, was so nice and told us of the chef’s amazing achievements— which are all very deserved. The food was cooked to perfection, even made me (a woman who strongly dislikes steak) enjoy a rare one. Bistecca deserves so much more recognition for their amazing food and service, and we are SO coming back. Thank you for being the best restaurant to celebrate my fiancé and I’s engagement.

Atmosphere very cozy & romantic. Service- not notch! Now for the food. Started with the she crab soup. Amazing!!!!! I ordered the pork chop/ mash potatoes & asparagus. Best pork chop I’ve ever had in my life. Also, we had the Veal Davinci- Rosotto/ brocollini. Again, amazing! Do your self a favor. Try it out! Reservations are highly recommended!

Good food and service, but waitstaff didn’t use crumbers, and in the middle of August they weren’t running the fans and AC wasn’t working properly, if not for that would have rated them better, the strawberry pie was the low point of the meal , the butterscotch panacotta was Amazing
