Lights-out the best chili in Chicagoland. The accompanying basket of chili additives helps make this great chili next-level. The tavern itself is a neat place! Great service from Richard!

Server was not friendly at all. She acted like she did not want to be there and made me feel like I was bothering her. I will not be going back there. Two costumers in the bar.BEWARE they will charge you more then the menu prices.

Awesome old school bar with the best chili in this area! This has been my ‘go to’ chili during fall and winter, for the last 15 years-love it! You can only pay with cash here, but they have an atm.

Been a huge supporter for about 15 years, such a unique take on Chili! Great flavor and best order with cheese, raw onions and sour cream!

I was really looking forward to checking this place out. The decor is what I expected, but the service and friendliness .. . it just was not there. The chili was okay. I was disappointed. I was just expecting more of a friendly, Cheers, type feel, and heartier chili. It’s just not the place for me.

Likely the best service I’ve gotten in forever. Didn’t have cash so they said they’d prepare my food while I returned, super friendly and casual. Cant say anything about the bar itself, but the chili is definitely nothing to laugh at. (Wish it was less runny, but still good!)

BEWARE: we ate there today and the food was OK. However, when the bill arrived, it was 2-3 bucks higher than the menu prices. I asked about the difference and the gal pointed to a small sign at the bar saying prices have gone up – but the new prices are not reflected on the menu. Errr, excuse me, but I call BS. I should not have to walk around the bar reading signs to see if the rates in the menu are valid. No worries. We will not be back. Chili was OK but watery.

Chili, grilled cheese and you can get both kinds of beer…regular and root. Haha. It’s been like that for years and years. Love it!

I didn’t know places like this still existed. Fantastically good chili (I added sour cream and cheese), simple but good beer menu and brats/sausages. Old school bar and local clientele. Definitely worth checking out. Leave you pretensions at the door.

Bishop’s chili has the best chili around. The staff is friendly and efficient, it was a day when the bar was full but they still came to our table and were so welcoming to my family. We loved the food and the lemonade. It’s been our family favorite for years. If you haven’t tried it – you’re missing out so go get some Chili Mac. Thank you!
