This is a small, family-owned business in Cave City, operating out of a building that used to be a gas station. Their meat is smoked on-site in front of the building. There are a few tables inside and several more outside; the outdoor tables are under a roof, so we were able to eat outside even though it was lightly raining. The three women running the restaurant could not have been kinder or more pleasant — the whole place just had a happy vibe. And the food! I had the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad, while my daughter had a hot dog with mac and cheese. Every item was exceptional. Great sauce on the pork, which was smoky and tender; the potato salad was smooth, mustardy, and delicious. My daughter raved about the mac and cheese (and she’s a mac and cheese connoisseur). If you love good barbecue, then whatever you do, do not miss out on Bishop’s!

The best BB-Q we have ever had. She had the ribs w/ mac ‘n cheese and coleslaw…I had the sampler (pulled pork, shoulder and 1 rib..all smothered in tasty KY BB-Q sauce) w/ potato salad and baked beans…mac- home made and very good, slaw- finely shredded and very good, potato salad- smooth texture, mustard style and very good, beans- unique candy like flavor and very good…the meat tasted like barbeque flavored smoke…perfectly smoked…the owners/workers were very kind, friendly and attentive…highly recommended…will be going back for lunch tomorrow

A very good little BBQ restaurant, hidden away in a repurposed gas station. A clean, tidy “eat in” dining area of about 6 tables, and very good food. I tried the Sampler plate (the ribs and pulled pork were my favorite), the potato salad tasted homemade, and the baked beans were just right. As for portions, the sampler was almost over doing it, there was more than enough. I don’t get to that side of the National Park very often, but plan to pop back in whenever I’m “in the neighborhood”.

My family and I were visiting Mammoth Cave during the Memorial Day Weekend and decided to try out this little restaurant as we were missing our home in Texas. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the warm greetings and wonderful food. We had the sampler plate and loved it all. The kids loved the corn bread made in the shape of a pancake. Thanks for helping make our Mammoth cave experience great!

This place earns 5 stars simply for the mac and cheese. I could make a meal off of just that it was so freaking good! The pulled pork had a good smoke flavor. The lady that helped us was about as nice as could be, very friendly and outgoing.

Bishop’s is fantastic! We stopped on our drive up to Indiana for a quick lunch. What a find! We all had the pulled pork with a few different sides. They are so nice and the food is excellent! Its also in a highly convenient location. Would highly recommend!

Little BBQ place that should be a must try for anyone who likes real homemade BBQ. The meat quality is out of this world. The homemade Mac and cheese is outstanding and the baked beans flavor is one of a kind! Don’t miss out!

Don’t judge a book by its cover, the ribs were perfect and the Mac n Cheese was extremely good. Best BBQ I’ve had in quite some time. The gals running the place were delightful. Definitely worth a stop for sure.

Great BBQ. We had the bishop sampler plate. All of it was great baked beans were flavorful, friendly service! Will definitely come back again when we are coming through!
