Bisbee Royale – Discover How to Have Fun in Bisbee
Reviews
My parents were visiting the U.S. as tourists for a few days, and we chose Bisbee because it’s close to Tucson and very tourist-friendly. Our server was initially polite, but her attitude changed completely once she realized my parents didn’t speak English. She became rude, dismissive, and impatient when we asked for clarification about the Eggs Benedict. Her tone was harsh and clearly annoyed. We did not expect service in our language since I speak English perfectly, but we also did not expect to be treated poorly because of a language barrier with my parents. This was especially noticeable since the only person she treated well was my husband, a local, English-speaking white man.
We should have left, but we stayed and ordered.
It took 20 minutes just to get our drinks. After waiting over an hour for food, we were told there was only one cook and that it would take at least 25 more minutes—information that was never shared when we arrived. We were told we would be “the first to get our food,” which was not true. My husband noticed that the second dining area had no customers, yet we waited another 30 minutes. In total, 1 hour and 30 minutes. Several tables that arrived after us were served and left before we received our food.
To make matters worse, the “Farmers Market” Eggs Benedict did not match the description (no sun-dried tomatoes, barely any arugula). The eggs were overcooked, half of the dishes were cold, and after eating, several of us had stomach pain.
We would not return under any circumstances. It’s disappointing given the positive reviews. While the server slightly improved her attitude halfway through, basic respect should not depend if they made a mistake or if we make complaint—it should be the standard.
First built in 1918!
Brandy was on top of it! We’ve only been there twice and the second time we came in she knew exactly what we wanted to drink already. Very kind and funny person. We need more bartender/servers like Brandy!
Now don’t get me started on David… HE CAN COOK! He knew it was our anniversary and decided to make up some very delicious and special egg rolls for us. On top of that made us dessert that was to die for.
Unforgettable experience and we will
Definitely be back for more fun memories there.
I was invited to sit wherever I wanted, so I chose a table along the wall with a big TV right above me. I was greeted kindly, and given time to order my food, which I decided would be a couple fried eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, toast, & cheesy grits. They were so good, with the hashbrowns being, as my partner put it, “The best he’s ever had!”
I personally enjoyed the patties the most, and the grits the least. The grits were made in a way that the shredded cheese was sprinkled on top of the grits instead of mixed in it, and I do not prefer that style. It was still good, just not as good as others I’ve tried. So that’s why I’m not docking points; why be super critical on one side dish when everything else was an A+?
I liked the wholesome feel of the restaurant, like everybody knew each other, and the fact that it was pet-friendly was a bonus too. A couple came in with three cute dogs, and that just made me super happy (not to mention, it WAS on my birthday too). I would come here again if I return to Bisbee.
