We visited Biryani Pot in Austin yesterday as two families, including a child. Although it was a Friday evening, we expected a crowd, but the restaurant was surprisingly empty. We got our food quickly, which was a plus, but a few menu items were missing. The chicken biryani we ordered was spicy, but not the dum biryani we had hoped for; it was more like a fried piece biryani. The chicken lollipops were too sweet for our taste, and the dosa and vada came with cold chutneys, straight from the fridge. On the plus side, we were served with water bottles, which was a nice touch, though we’re not sure if we were charged for them. The portion sizes were decent, but the atmosphere lacked energy, and the flavors weren’t as rich as we expected. Overall, it was a mixed experience.

This was an awful experience. The staff here are the most dishonest and insincere people. They lie to your face, saying the food will be ready in 3 to 5 minutes, but we waited 25 minutes and it still wasn’t ready. What’s worse, they didn’t even apologize—just arrogantly told us they still didn’t know when it would be done, as if we were supposed to just leave. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We catered food from Biryani Pot. It was very tasty. Everyone at the party liked the food. Biryani pot orders by plate, so it is very convinient. We ordered after we had thier food at our friend’s event. Best part is they deliver too, this is so helpful. Venu and team are easy to work with, they also customize the food.

I have ordered catering food and tea and snacks a few times with this restaurant. (Pretty large orders). And they have always delivered high quality of food. The quantity is always surplus, for the count that we order. They have very good delivery system as well. I highly recommend this place for party orders. I stumbled upon Biryani Pot while walking by and decided to check it out, and I’m really glad I did. I got the boneless chicken lunch special, and it was great—really tasty and full of flavor. The portion was big too. I usually finish my food, but this time I had to take some home. Definitely a good deal for the price.
The place has a chill vibe. There were only two TVs, both playing music videos, which I liked. I prefer that over news or sports blasting in the background when I’m trying to enjoy a meal.
I’ll definitely be back, because I want to try the goat lunch special next time!

This was my first visit to Biryani Pot and it will absolutely be my last. I ordered a to-go meal this afternoon, ate half during the day, and when I went to finish it at night, I was horrified to find a cockroach in the food. This is not just disappointing, it’s a serious health and hygiene violation.
I’m genuinely shocked that a restaurant serving customers can allow such poor standards.

We tried the Paneer Combo Meal at Biryani Pot Austin, and overall, it was decent. The combo included Paneer Biryani, Paneer Curry, Gobi Manchurian, and Corn Chilly, along with roti and pappad. While the flavors were good, some items seemed like they were prepared in the morning and simply reheated for lunch. The kesar dessert was straight out of the freezer and didn’t taste fresh. I hope they focus more on serving freshly prepared food, as the quality could definitely be better with that extra touch.

Updated interiors are good, give a better dining experience. The service is quick, staff is friendly and accommodates food requests. I really wanted rassam and the chef made it even though it’s not on their menu. Everything we ordered – idli, masala dosa, chickens dum biryani – tasted amazing.
