LA COCINA was such a great spot for delicious, authentic Mexican food. The chips and salsa were amazing, and the entire menu had a lot of authentic flavor. The tacos were fantastic, and honestly, everything we tried was divine. The staff was super friendly, and we visited on a Friday afternoon when it wasn’t busy at all. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food!

The molcajete is a great shareable size, my husband & I ordered it expecting to finish it & we still had left overs to take to go, my husband also order the cooktail he said it was really good 10/10!
They had a big TV with music playing not to loud which still allowed us to talk & enjoy ourselves.
Would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!
Update: New owner is slowly making a change, they recently painted the walls & the atmosphere feel calming & free!

Having grown up eating SoCal & Mexico. I can say this is by far the most authentic Mexican food in the PNW. Reasonable prices, large portions, & friendly service. Don’t let the outside fool you. This place is awesome!

This spot is super unassuming and has a very casual vibe, the decor/atmosphere isn’t what carries the place, but they did decorate for the holiday and have a big TV playing music videos. The service is friendly and the food arrived quickly and was flavorful and enjoyable, it had all the textures I wanted. The tacos dorados and consome were my favorite, and the horchata wasn’t bad – if it was a simple premade mix at least it didn’t taste like it or have the grainy texture I don’t like. Definitely will go again when I need a birria fix.

While on a Roadtrip we happened into this great Mexican restaurant! The flavors of the food were exceptional, tasty but not too spicy, there were roasted onions and a pepper on each plate. The quality and quantity of food was really good.

Tbh I usually take my leftovers home but this restaurant served some Burt rice and the food lacked flavor. The chips were decent the salsa was okay. Won’t come back again but the atmosphere was good

Birria burrito was best I’ve had in Tacoma. Great meat great rice great beans great flavor. The way they crisp the exterior like you would a birria taco makes it next level .

My husband and I bought a Birria Pizza today for the first time and shared it with our 3 year old daughter. Man, oh man, that delish dish was a HIT! We will definitely be ordering it again, and it is definitely worth the $30. Even our daughter loved it, she ate every single bite – Even the little bits of red onion!!! Thanks so much for the yummy dinner, we will be coming back soon! ❤️
