Hands down the best birria my husband and I have ever had. Every time we go, we order half the menu or double of everything because it’s so good.
I have severe digestion issues that leave me struggling to digest solid food and stuck with a mostly liquid diet. This is my exception place- I will gladly pay the consequences of my gut just to enjoy the food here.
Whenever we have birria somewhere else, we always end up agreeing it’s not as good as Birria la Capital (or that we just much prefer the flavor of them).

This has become my go to place for Birria in Salem. Super friendly folks in a really neat little food cart type area.
December 2022 Update – Unfortunately there have been too many not so hot visits. I haven’t been in a while for these reasons but tonight was in the area and figured I’d give it a try again. Unfortunately this may have been my last attempt. Only one other customer waiting for their order. I stood at the window with the person’s back to me for a couple minutes. When they finally turned around and saw me they didn’t say anything and went back to cooking. I waiting a couple more minutes to order but they never acknowledged me. I was the only person in line, standing right at the window under the awning to avoid the rain and waited several minutes more than I should have to even be acknowledged. At that point I would have been doing a disservice to spend my money there and headed down the road to my normal go to where I got incredible friendly service.
If I’m near someday in the future and craving their food I might give them another try but at this point I’m not thinking so. The food is pretty good but not worth the hassle and poor service.

Best Birria I’ve ever had. I got the regular birria tacos and they were filling and flavorful. My partner got the Quesabirria which honestly tasted even better. It was super cheesy and delicious. The consume was tasty and well seasoned. Definitely my favorite birria spot in all of Salem and possibly in all of Oregon.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Half of them are complaining about not being served when they didn’t even approach the counter or say anything. La Capital is definitely in my top 3 best birrias in Salem, so don’t skip out on them. The prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the food is delicious. I have not had one bad experience with them. Failproof food, would recommend.

This might be my new favorite food truck. I ordered the quesabirria and it was excellent. It was less crispy than I was hoping, but the flavor was all there. The consommé was a different color than I’ve had before. It didn’t have that typical orange grease floating on top. At first I was a little disappointed but then when I tasted it, I was 100% satisfied. It has a very distinct flavor and is absolutely delicious. The lady who took my order was not very friendly, but I was fine with it because the food was so dang good. My order cost about $15 and that included the $2 sour cream (for a very small container). It was ready pretty quick and came with a couple slices of radish and cucumber. Worth every penny.

Me and my girl had burritos and we were not disappointed! If you’re not sure what to eat try burrito out first! Very good portion size for what you pay and very delicious, comes with consume, lime, radish and salsa! Went 3 times and satisfied each time.
