My boyfriend and I decided to stop by here as they have an offer (through BECU’s Equity in Action) for this month to try out some of their offerings. We arrived and saw that they have quite a large space so plenty of seating, lovely decor and just cozy vibes overall. However this is not your usual sit down restaurant as you go up to the cashier to place your order. They do have a menu that is shown on their screen or physical menus. I got their birria ramen, my boyfriend got their quesabirria, and we got two tacos. The cashier was polite and friendly with us and anyone else who came by.
It seemed that the cashier and cook had to communicate a lot as she had to remind him that our order was for here. My boyfriend’s quesabirrias did come in a take out container but everything else came in as a regular dine in order. The tacos was very filling and the meats (asada and adobaba) was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The birria ramen was okay but the broth was way too salty and the ramen was not cooked fully which was disappointing as it is instant ramen and that is pretty easy to cook. The quesabirrias was good and so was their rice and beans. They do have a self-serve water station. The bathrooms were clean and lovely. Music was played at a decent volume as we could have a conservative without issues. Additional you can leave your table without cleaning as the cashier will come and grab them when you leave.
Overall we would love to try out this place again in the future! It seems they are a local favorite as they kept getting customers for dine in and take out throughout our time there.

Good food! Never had Birria ramen before, but I liked the flavor a lot. Thick broth with ramen noodles, Birria meat, and fixings.
My bf had the pork belly burrito, and his bro Birria tacos. All of it was tasty. Restaurant was very clean, the food came out pretty fast, and the staff working on was super friendly. I liked the vibes inside. Would definitely dine in again.

The food is really good. Definitely will try to come back again, we are a bit far, but it was on our way back home from the Museum of Flight. Definitely must order some quesabirrias if you stop by.

I love Mexican food, so I have eaten at a lot of different restaurants and I have to report that the birria at Grumpy’s is exceptionally good. The classic recipe is generous, hearty and served traditional style with a big terracotta serving bowl. But the other menu items like the queso birria tacos, the birria baked potato and the birria ramen are fresh, unique and delicious also. There’s great drinks, yummy appetizers and a comfortable welcoming dining room to enjoy the great food. It’s a full menu … carne asada, arroz con pollo, etc as well as some lovely sweets for after dinner. I like this place a lot.

food came out really fast, they were nice. but the prices were extremely high and there wasn’t much food to show for it. absolute rip off. the plate was 24 dollars, the tacos were okay for 12 but they barely give you any consome with it. and the jalepenos were too burnt and cost 14 dollars. my boyfriend and i were both disappointed, will not be returning. customer service was okay tho.

The staff was very friendly and the food, in general, a bit greasy but overall was good. I ordered the birria tacos, but unfortunately, they didn’t have the traditional goat meat used in this dish. Despite this, I would consider returning to try other menu items. Additionally, this restaurant offers ample seating and parking.

I went and ordered 3 quesobirria tacos with pina agua Fresca and salsa verde. The food was delicious and the service was very welcoming. I paid about $30 which is pretty high, and there was a fly or two circling where I had sat. The dining room was clean with many seatings options for different group sizes but I hope that they have the opportunity to update it. The only thing that would stop me from coming would be the price, but that service was so friendly, and the food so good, I might regardless.

Man the birria quesatacos with consume are out of this word. Being from Los Angeles I can confidently say these are comparable, even better than many I’ve tried through the years. I was very thankful they didn’t try to blast my taste buds out with over the top spices, was just the right amount.
The consume was just right and the hot sauce they served with it was very taseful without being overly spicy, just perfect.
Excellent Mexican food and very welcoming, the server was nice and they have $5 dollar beers for happy hour (cash for the beers). Overall very satisfied with this restaurant and will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Washington.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great food. Went here with a couple friends on a limb but we were pleasantly surprised. the restaurant wasn’t too busy we sat ourselves at a nice round table in the corner. Everything ordered tasted great and was very filling for the price definitely coming again.
