Nice small cozy place, the food is good but felt like it was lacking just a bit of flavor. The beer was on the warmer side but overall a good experience. It’s probably a family owned restaurant so they only have 1 waiter which wasn’t bad when I arrived but after a while all tables were full and it was hard for one guy to keep up. 3.8 stars.

The authentic Calvillo, Mexico flavors were exceptional; the generous portion size proved challenging to finish, yet this only heightened my appreciation for the delicious birria, flan, soda, and churro, all enjoyed for under $20. The cash-only policy, while requiring advance planning, contributes to their competitive pricing. Ample parking is conveniently located behind the establishment.

My parents use to love coming to eat birria here it’s so good, authentic flavor just like my parents made it & portions are pretty big for the price. Reminds me of when we use to go eat it in Jalpa Zacatecas with my dad. Brings back so many memories. Service is great too.

I threw the majority of the carne asada tacos away because the meat wasn’t drained. It had so much oil in the meat that the tortillas wore soggy by time I got home and dripping oil. The meat definitely lacked flavor so I added some of my own but after a few bites it tasted like a mixture of carne asada and ground beef….not only that you can always see the chunks of asada in tacos this has more of a ground beef look, taste, and flavor to the meat so I tossed it out…..seriously a waste of $15. I will never eat here again. The bag of cilantro, onions, and lemons were tossed in 1 small bag but the cilantro had so much turned green that I didn’t feel comfortable adding it the meat. Next time I will stick with El Taco Man they seem to be the only spot to season the meat, drain it, and the condiments are always fresh. I never question their quality of their food. I could have went there and spent way less. SMH lesson learned.

Feels like you walked into a cenaduría, plastic tablecloths and all! Tried their BIRRIA DE CHIVO. Tasty. The salsa is hot. I loved the tostadas caseras. First time I’ve seen that in LA. Basically grilled tortillas. No oil. No salt. All crunch. Perfect for dipping into the tasty broth in your bowl. Bring CASH ONLY.
My only request is, to make outside seating available. Tables were a little too close for COVID times.
