We had a party of eight the next morning after a wedding. The food was amazing and my dad thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The pancakes are very big and moist.
However, my daughter had the grilled cheese and really did not care for it. The waitress was decent, but the hostess was spectacular!

Delicious breakfast – loved the biscuits and gravy! I think they are homemade. Didn’t care for the sausage patties though – overdone and didnt taste like quality meat. (Took 1 bite.) Coffee very good (IYKYK). Our server, Shannon was wonderful. So sweet and friendly and very attentive. Be prepared to wait on a weekend morning.

Birdies is a simple hole in the wall hidden gem of a restaurant. We were given a recommendation for breakfast from a local restaurant and they didn’t let us down. Both my wife’s and my breakfast were tasty and wonderful portions. Everyone is friendly, kind, polite and welcoming. We’re in town one more day and going back again. As I’m not from the area, I’ll say parking is 50/50. There are parking meters which I believe are free after 5 and some free parking at a side lot. We totally recommend eating here.

A sad excuse for an eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce is a pale yellow, lacking that lemon zest flavor. Don’t know what it was. The staff and the whole place is amazing though. I will go back to try something else!

Fabulous service – quick, kind, and friendly. The food was DELICIOUS. We had the Farmer’s Plate, Eggs Benedict, and the Fried Chicken and Biscuits (with a side of potatoes). I think my new favorite breakfast place in Dubuque. All three of us said that these were the best breakfast potatoes we had ever had.

We were visiting from out of town. We had a bit of a wait to sit down because we got there at a busy time. The menu is a classic breakfast/lunch menu and the food was excellent. Everything we ordered arrived quickly, hot, and fresh. The staff was friendly and the community atmosphere was very welcoming.

Our breakfast was amazing! We had a breakfast burrito and a 2 egg breakfast with their signature potatoes. Everything was cooked to order and cooked to perfection in my opinion. $11.99 for the breakfast burrito and potatoes but it was a lot of food! The service was good and servers were friendly.

We were on a little road trip and stopped in Dubuque to get a bite to eat! There was a farmers market going on downtown so we went through that and this quaint little bistro caught our eye! So glad we decided to go in. Our waitress was amazing and the food was incredible! I had the breakfast skillet and my husband had the chicken and biscuits! Both came with sausage gravy and it was scrumptious!!

Excellent breakfast and lunch spot right by City Hall downtown. Cozy atmosphere and professional service made it welcoming. Food looks and tastes delicious, coffee was outstanding. Even the napkins are the heavy duty linen-like kind. Definitely recommended!

I can’t say enough about this place. I ALMOST didn’t want to put a review to keep people away so it’s not busy when I want to go. Their food is top notch and delicious. Dubuques food is normally bland, NOT HERE!! We have been a few times and each time it is amazing. Plus the country kitchen vibe is a nice accent to the breakfast meal.
