I recently attended a retirement party at Birdies, and was so impressed.
The service was unbelievable — especially with a group our size. The staff was attentive, friendly, and everything ran smoothly all night. They even created a custom drink for the guest of honor and put personalized retirement graphics up on the TVs throughout the bar. Those extra touches made the celebration feel really special.
The food was a huge hit, too. The buffalo chicken wrap was amazing, and everything came out hot and fresh — which is no small feat with a large group. Drinks were great across the board.
You can tell they truly care about creating a great experience.

We had a great time thanks to the fun atmosphere and our fantastic, attentive server, but the food we had mixed reviews. The Wisconsin cheese curds were excellent and the buffalo chicken sandwich was solid, but other food we had kinda fell short. The boneless wings were pretty small only come with 8 with tough breading, and the brussel sprouts were super oily, they definitely need more crispiness and some bacon for flavor. It’s a great spot for drinks and vibes, but the food we had was just okay. We’ll be back to try other food items and their fun seasonal drink menu.

We went to Birdies last weekend with a group of 8 adults and kids. They were very accommodating, the service was good and the food was excellent!
We ordered the bruschetta and Brussels sprouts for the table – so good, and then split wings and the jalapeño burger. The burger was amazing!! The wings lightly breaded, meat was juicy, and the sauce had just the right amount of spice.
My husband and I are still craving the wings and burger, and can’t wait to go back!
Great to see a locally owned establishment go up in Ankeny where there are a lot of large corporate chains. We personally love to Support local when we can.

Absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Our waitress Ava had this biggest smile on her face the whole time she waited on us! Super nice and friendly girl!
The specialty drinks are amazing. I highly recommend the espresso martini! I can tell they really care about quality and the overall experience.
This bar & grill does not disappoint. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone!

Went on a Friday night and expected to have to wait quite awhile since it’s a new place and pretty limited seating. Waited at the bar for a couple minutes and were seated very promptly. I ordered one of the smash burgers and it was legitimately one of the best burgers I’ve had from any restaurant in the Des Moines/Ankeny area. Although our waitress was quite busy, she did an exceptional job checking in on us and making sure our needs were met in a timely manner. I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the service and the drinks we ordered. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Stopped by Birdie’s and had the steak melt hands down one of the best I’ve had. The steak was tender, perfectly seasoned, and the melted cheese and grilled onions made it next-level good. The Dr Pepper was perfectly fizzy and refreshing, and the mini beers were a fun surprise smooth, sweet, and the perfect way to finish things off. Big shoutout to my server, Maranda she was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back!

Overall the food was good. I got the BBQ pulled pork my wife had the same and my son had the chicken stripe and fries also he had cottage cheese. I will say the BBQ pulled pork tasted as if it were pre packaged and warmed up. I would put more coleslaw on it there was not enough of it. I would also use a more vinegar based coleslaw to offset the sweet taste of the pulled pork. The pulled pork was to mushy not enough body to it. The price was just about right but the taste was for sure something to be desired.
