Tucked away in Hamilton Heights is a broad and tasty cocktail menu in a space designed to get people to talk to each other. My favorite drinks were the
– gone too soon with its fruit balance
– and the violet Beauregard with its texture.
Make sure to tell the bartender whether you like sweetness, spirits, herbs, or balance. That will help them recommend drinks to you.
From the food side, the macaroni and cheese was excellent. The deviled eggs were good but may heavy for those who don’t know. The cornbread was a classic crumbly that worked with the butter. The fried pickles were tart and savory.
The steak was well-made and the fries were decent, albeit not quite as crunchy as I like.
The atmosphere is excellent, I wanted to stay long after my party left. If I lived nearby I’d go weekly. Excellent spot, excellent staff.

My best friend treated me to a birthday dinner here and everything was perfect. The food was amazing. I had the best porkchop and Brussels sprouts I have ever eaten. The music and ambiance was very warm and inviting. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Best birthday dinner every! I will definitely be back to try other dishes. I have never had kale so light and airy and tasty. It almost tasted like a light potato chip. Yummy!! Oh wait…. I almost forgot the cornbreaddddddd! Delicious like cake! Loved everything.

We ordered the sangria. Very underwhelming, just a bunch of fruit and a lot of ice for $48. I didn’t try the other drinks so I cannot rate that so that’s the reason why the 3 stars.
The food however was a bright spot. Very well seasoned and flavorful. Bird in hand Benedict was amazing.
If i could do it again I’d go for a different drink to balance the food.

I stumbled upon this place with my friend after having no luck finding a nice dinner spot around the area.
The atmosphere was a 10/10. Dim lighting, beautiful decor and moody music.
Our server was very nice and periodically filled our water without having to ask twice.
Drinks and food were soooo amazing, arguably the best dinner I’ve had in New York so far.

This place is very relaxing and great for brunch. Their Egg Benedict was cooked perfectly and their home fries which also included sweet potatoes was delicious. They have a very creative cocktail menu and the servers were very attentive as well.

The food and cocktails were definitely tasty, albeit quite pricey for this neighborhood. The selection of cocktails was quite fun, but unfortunately they were out of some critical ingredients and we could order exactly what we wanted.
I loved the atmosphere of this place and they were able to easily seat a group of 5 at a large circular table in the back.
The one major gripe was the service – they were clearly understaffed and as such we had to wait an egregious amount of time to just order.

When you are in Harlem looking for a place for lunch, I highly recommend Bird in Hand. On google maps it’s listed as a cocktail bar but it is a full service restaurant and bar. The food is delicious and nicely presented at reasonable prices. Most important is the excellent service by Megan. She’s friendly, helpful, and very professional. I have tried a variety of the menu items, all of which I enjoyed, but today the arugula salad (see picture) was amazing.

This place surprised me a little. The decor was very cozy and warm. It felt like going to a friend’s house. The burger was really good (if you eat bacon add it & thank me later ).

Celebrating a graduation in the backroom on Sunday couldn’t have happened in a better place! The ambience was welcoming with a cool vibe. The staff was genuinely caring and their service was ever present without being obstructive. But, then there was the food…wow!!! We enjoyed every offering! I was thrilled at the buffet/family style since it let me sample so many of the goodies I had eyed on the menu. Biscuits, sausages, deviled eggs, lox, crispy bacon, French toast, waffles, compote and jam, scrambled eggs (fluffy and warm!) bagels + spreads and the salad…the salad was exquisite, too. Wow and an understandable venue choice from my cousin who’s made this a favorite neighborhood go to. So, I think I may be visiting my cousins more often

Everything I ate and drank here was excellent! The Violet Beauregard cocktail was smooth, fruity, and flavorful without being overly sweet or sour. The Brussels sprouts appetizer (which is a very large portion) was served with ingredients that I would never think to add myself but which paired well and balanced one another. The BBQ jackfruit burger had lots of flavor (though I will say it fell apart on me like a sloppy Joe often does). And the truffle fries were the best I have ever had… crispy, Parmesan and deep truffle flavor. We happened to show up during trivia hour on Sunday night—if I lived in the area I would come back again for that!
