Food was great!!!
But our server made some mistakes and some what conned us into a higher bill (by offering salads and completely worded it in a way that sounded like it came with my steak dinner). It didn’t, for $18 later . Money is NOT an issue but the moral of it is. I’ve worked service in country clubs and fine dining for 15+ years and found the arrogance in his upcharging method very dishonest.
Also, we also ordered one nice glass of wine and I, a diet coke. I’ve been sober 2 1/2 years . He brought 2 glasses of wine, no soda. (Glad I was, and am, strong enough in my sobriety to be able to handle silly things like that .) Had to wait a long time before I even got my diet coke and a refill. It wasn’t slammed but steady.
I’m not one for confrontation AT ALL, so it is what it is, that’s why I didn’t grab a manager, also, servers like this rarely change.
He still received a 20% tip as it was included in the bill. I always leave more than that. That night, I did not unfortunately. He would have gotten the 20% from me regardless btw.
Other than some desperate service, the atmosphere, and the weather, were as beautiful as my stunning partner was/is.
Great people watching, and they also have a wonderful cozy fire pit!
And I’ll say again, the food was delicious!!

What a way to enjoy a dinner!!! As we were strolling down Beach Drive in downtown St Pete we ran across Birch & Vine. The weather was perfect for an outside dinner. We had WILL as our waiter. Let me tell you, Will is the deal He was very attentive and gave us speciality culinary preparation choices as well as answering any of questions on the menu.
Wait… Did I say that dinner was AMAZING! We will definitely return as nothing disappointed.

The service here at this restaurant was phenomenal – the servers were attentive and kind. Regarding the food, it was delicious the potions were a big size. I highly recommend any of the handhelds but honestly cannot go wrong with any of the menu options. The $20 bottomless mimosas are great too.

As an easy going person, I rarely take time out of my day to leave a bad review, but this restaurant provided a really bad experience from point A to Z last night. The hostess outside of the restaurant started it off with poor service. For a 7 o’clock reservation, we didn’t have a server talk to us until 7:45 and that’s only because we finally went back to the interior hostess stand (this young lady did a nice job by bringing water herself and grabbing a server).
We ordered drinks, apps and entrees from the server at 7:45 and didn’t get the drinks until 8:30. An hour and a half to get drinks to the table…. thankfully the apps started coming out shortly thereafter. The carpaccio was good, the crab cakes were fine. Entrees got out around 9:20. The steak frites were good, not great. Flavors were solid, but they pile the fries on top of an aioli, which leads to most of them being soggy (not sure why they’d choose this plating, but at least everything tasted fine). Since it was almost three hours into a two course meal, we don’t even dare to order desserts right before ten. I’m sure they were probably short staffed or something, but a $500 meal for four people should come with dramatically better service. Definitely not planning on coming back.

Birch & Vine is a beautiful spot in downtown St. Pete that offers a welcoming mix of indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is laid-back yet refined, making it perfect for everything from date nights to family outings. It’s pet-friendly, kid-friendly, and even wheelchair accessible — definitely a plus for inclusivity!
The food is excellent — every dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared and flavorful. That said, it’s on the pricier side, so be prepared for a bit of a splurge. Service was top-notch across the board. The staff was genuinely friendly, took time to chat, and offered great recommendations without being pushy.
One thing to note: vegetarian options are pretty limited, so keep that in mind if you’re dining with plant-based eaters.
Overall, a great experience and worth checking out if you’re in the area!

The menu was not very impressive, maybe because it was limited due to it being Valentine’s Day. We started with an order of bread which was very good. My husband ordered the prime rib and lobster ($75), he said the steak was just ok, but that his lobster was one of the best he’s ever had. He ordered a side truffle Caesar salad and he really liked it. I ordered the fill size truffle Caesar salad with added chicken. The salad part was very good, but the chicken was so dry I couldn’t eat it. I ordered wine and he ordered an Old Fashioned which he said was very good. We sat inside close to the kitchen and bathroom where it was very busy, otherwise it probably would have been 5 stars for atmosphere. The service was very good, but I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 because first off the hostess told us we had an hour and a half time limit, we’ve never had anyone tell us that before. The other reason is because the waiter made a point of saying that he doesn’t get the whole 20% service charge added to the bill, so we felt pressured to leave more.

From the moment you step into this restaurant, you’re struck by its stunning ambiance. The interior is not only beautifully designed but also boasts an entire wall dedicated to an impressive and diverse collection of wines—truly a wine lover’s dream. The rooftop is a standout feature, offering breathtaking views of the pier that add a perfect touch to a relaxed, upscale brunch experience.
The food was equally memorable. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, but the star of the night was undeniably the stinky buns—a must-try! They’re rich, savory, and perfectly shareable, easily enough for 3 to 4 people. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in delivering bold, satisfying flavors.
Service throughout brunch time was superb. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure our dining experience felt personal and unrushed. The only area for improvement lies with the hosts; a warmer, more welcoming attitude at the entrance would help set the tone and match the high standard set by the rest of the team.
Overall, this place delivers a near-perfect brunch experience and is well worth a visit. Whether you’re in it for the food, the wine, or the view—this spot delivers on all fronts.

Came with my wife and another couple. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. It started with my wife ordering a garden salad with no cheese. They literally brought her a plate of lettuce…..no dressing, no other veggies, just a plate of lettuce. We complained and they put something else together that was a bit better. For the record, I normally never send any food back. However, I ordered the sea bass special and it was super salty to the point where it was inedible. They took it back and I decided to get the filet. It came out super quick and it looked like it was microwaved. Looked nothing what my friend got and it was really bad. Just a sickly shade of gray. The I also thought it tasted funny. I too sent it back and asked for the manager. He seemed disinterested with our experience but took the two items i ordered off the bill. Considering I didn’t eat it, that’s the least they could do. However, it really ruined our evening and I’d probably give this place another shot if he did more. They also charged us for an extra drink we didn’t order, but since our server was basically hiding, we just paid the overpriced bill and left.
