If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. The ribs here are so good I briefly considered leaving my family to run away with a rack of them. The brisket was so tender it nearly called me ‘daddy.’ I thought I knew what BBQ was, but apparently I’ve just been eating ‘meat-shaped sadness’ my whole life until now.

The sauce? It’s like liquid gold mixed with pure happiness and maybe a touch of wizard magic. I caught myself whispering sweet nothings to my pulled pork sandwich. The sides were so good I almost cried into the mac & cheese, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Bottom line: if you don’t eat here, your taste buds will file a lawsuit against you for neglect

MY GOODNESS! My husband and I got takeout from here today (two mac bowls plus a 1/2 pound side of brisket) and we are in shock at how delicious this food is. The service was wonderful, the two young gentlemen who helped us were very kind. We are currently eating the brisket without even adding sauce to it because it is LITERALLY THAT GOOD! Literally. Meat coma imminent !

Ordered frito pie through door dash. Got those nasty powdered nacho cheese tortilla chips, so over processed—not corn chips; and no cheese, and no onions. also, no chili—baked beans instead. If I were in the restaurant and they tried this, I would send it back and not pay. This is disappointing, and I suggest you stay away—far, far away.

Like this restaurant and often get the schooner salad to go – one for me, one for my wife. The last two times I got home and we were short something. First time no tomatoes and tonight no corn. Still got charg d full price though. Wouldn’t have been so bad if they said “hey, sorry we are out of…”

Before I begin to rate Billy Simms Barbecue in Wichita, KS, it should be noted that the parking lot was empty before entering the restaurant. Should you see an empty parking lot in front any restaurant avoid the place at all costs! With that being said, disappointment is too weak of a word to describe the food here.

Beginning with the ribs, they were dry, cold and had zero flavor. My companion stated that they were worse than hospital food. We could recognize instantly that the ribs were not cooked freshly; they were “heat and serve”from a box. The sauces had either too much vinegar or not enough (they come in packets; you get no sauce on your ribs).

In hindsight, I should have noticed there was no steam heat emanating from them meat; they must have come out of a lukewarm holding oven because they were cold to the touch. I’ve had AMAZING dry rub barbecue from Chicago to Kansas City (Missouri and Kansas) to Texas and this was not it. Not by a long shot.

As for the sides, what a waste! Everything was from a can or a box and tasted a such. Let’s take a rundown:

-Mashed potatoes: horrible, they tasted like they had rubber on top of them. There was saran wrap on top of them. Completely horrid.
-Macaroni and Cheese: It would have been tenfold better if they just made Kraft Mac n Cheese. The flavor was really bad. My partner ate less than a spoonful then discarded them.
-Dressing: bland, mushy and did not have the gravy I requested (a good thing it was missing, else I’d have been eating tasteless baby food), and was overly salted.
-Original Potato Salad: store-bought is much better.
-Green Beans: exactly what you expect from a can with an added flavor packet- dull and salty.
-Cole Slaw: the one bright spot of the meal, still tasted of off-brand Dole premix with slurry (just get KFC slaw, you’re stomach will thank you!).
-“Garlic”, or Buttered Bread: Nope. Soggy, tasteless, it’s a hard pass.

In America, during the time of covid-19, a vacation in an RV should be fun and filled with great tasting food, along with the Purple Mountain Majesties. This was just a red-hot blooded mess. 1.5 stats is being generous. L, especially when 10 bones of ribs plus all those sides and 2 drinks was over $32. Need I say more?

The people that work there are very courteous and helpful. And the place is always nice and clean whenever we have visited. But whenever we order ribs, there are always some in our order that are too dry. With this full rack order the six ribs on the top were okay, but seemed old, and the six ribs in this picture were on the bottom, including the “ends”, and were very dry and I was unable to eat them. I’m sure that if I asked they would accommodate me with ribs that I would be able to eat, but I trusted them and wasn’t paying attention. I will next time. The quality is inconsistent. That’s too far to drive and not be satisfied, especially for the amount of money I spent. I use to refer friends and drive clear to Andover for their BBQ on the regular, but that has changed.
