LEAWOOD – BILLIE’S GROCERY | Toast
Reviews
Avocado Toast:
The avocado was incredibly fresh and creamy, the egg was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, and the toast had the ideal crispness. My only notes: the arugula felt a little heavy, and I would have liked a bit more balsamic to balance the flavors.
Charcoal Latte:
A very unique drink with sweet but earthy tones. I think I would have enjoyed it even more iced and with a touch more sweetener, but it was fun to try something different.
Grilled Peach Labneh:
This was the standout of the meal. The labneh had a rich, Greek‑yogurt‑like creaminess, the grilled peaches were sweet with a nice bite, and the homemade granola was packed with flavor. Highly recommend.
Billie’s Cheeseburger + Fresh Fries:
My other half had the cheeseburger and fries, and it was excellent. The burger was juicy with perfectly melty cheese and a soft bun. The fries were fresh, crisp, and well‑seasoned.
Overall, Billie’s Grocery offers creative dishes with high‑quality ingredients. A few small tweaks here and there, but we left very satisfied and would definitely come back.
The cinnamon roll is totally unreal. Did not know I would ever have a great cinnamon roll again after going gluten free haha.
The monster cookie was also delicious 🙂
I will say – I ordered the earl grey marshmallow cookie thing and it was not very good…so much earl grey that it just tasted like soap!
Lastly, I ordered that Thai bowl with grilled chicken for take away to take on a flight with me and that was soo good. Light, refreshing, lots of textures and flavors. Highly recommend stopping here if you have the chance 🙂
Their baked goods and drinks are also wonderful. The atmosphere is clean and bright.
Ive eaten this meal about 100+ times now since they opened and 90/100 times its been fantastic. This is a pretty good hit rate for a restaurant over the course of 2 years.
If you order it standard (you should) you’ll get: *2 eggs sunny side up
*4oz of steak with chimichurra
*2 pieces of sourdough bread
* potatoes lightly fried along with a side of ketchup
This is $16.00 plus tax and you can leave a tip if you like
Eat the eggs first, then have a piece of the toast, then eat the steak and the other piece of toast. Finish with the potatoes and ketchup.
This ordering helps slows down carbohydrate absorption and is best for your gut health. And it’s how I eat it so you should, too.
Billies also has some amazing pastries and cakes. If you come in early on a weekday you can sometimes get a slice of the cake instead of having to buy the entire thing.
My favorite dessert is the iced sugar cookie. Request the one with the most frosting.
They also have plenty of drinks to choose from.
Its self serve so you grab your own silverware and water.
If you want to avoid the crowds (it gets busy) 2pm to 5pm its light and anytime after 6:30pm
Try the holiday gingerbread cookie, you will love it.
I ordered the Thai Bowl with Chicken. Very good and a huge portion. This is a wonderful place for people that have issues finding foods to fit their needs.
The food is outstanding. Everything tastes fresh, high-quality, and clearly made with care. The menu has a great variety, and no matter what you order, it’s consistently delicious and beautifully presented. Their pastries and baked goods are especially hard to resist.
The staff truly sets this place apart. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help, which makes the experience feel personal and relaxed rather than rushed.
Billie’s Grocery has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Leawood. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to—and recommending to everyone you know.
