In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family owned and operated business with 77 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood. We offer a variety of meats such as brisket, sausage, bar-b-q chicken, pork spareribs, turkey and fried chicken. We specialize in the baking of breads and pies made fresh daily. Bought two chops sandwiches today around 1pm and one of them had a hard plastic in it that stabbed me while I was chewing.
Was offered free food but did not take it because getting free food was not going to help the problem.
Hopefully management took the time to listen and not just ignore my concern.

Alot has changed over the years… the salads used to have purple onion sliced rings and bacon bits.. too..!!!

But lil by lil the onions disappeared and so did the bacon bits…!!!
I ALWAYS GET LEG QRT W/ BONE-IN….

Another great Bill Millers spot! It’s definitely a go-to for my church family and I! We always come to this one since it’s so close by and become quite acquainted with the workers!

Food: 10/10
The food is always super hot and fresh! I would personally recommend their turkey and brisket if it’s available!

Service: 10/10
I’m always being helped by smiling workers, they always seem to be enjoying themselves too behind the counter!

Atmosphere: 10/10
The atmosphere is definitely what you’d expect from a BBQ place, and there’s always a comfortable amount of conversation and laughter in the air. Definitely an enjoyable spot to eat alone or with some friends!

The woman at the register (Josie) is a joy! She cares! She saw that my thumb was in a splint and was kind enough to ask if I needed help carrying my tray! I know it may be part of her job but she had compassion for me. It made my day!
Food was great! I had fried chicken 2 piece that was excellent and moist, hash browns were delicious as always, and potato salad! To top off my huge lunch, I decided on pecan pie. I don’t usually get dessert, but today, I just wanted it. Terrific atmosphere. I listened to music on my phone with an earpiece and watched patrons eat soup today!! It’s only going to get up to 69° here in SA, a good day for soup! Best experience yet at Bill Miller’s Bar-B-Q!!

The food portion is a ripoff. I got the special turkey plate they are advertising. It looked like a child’s portion. My receipt was made up (I posted the receipt lol). Other than the turkey, none of it was accurate. I had French fries, green beans and lemonade. Apparently the cashier punched in whatever they needed to boost sales on lol. The staff is very nice, very friendly and they all work very hard. Merrick was taking care of the dining room, he was hustling and doing an excellent job! That is why I give the 5 star rating. The manager may tell the staff to give small portions and that’s not the staffs fault. They’re working hard yet still stay very friendly and are all up-beat. The staff deserves the good rating. Went through drive thru this afternoon. The line was not very long, moving quickly. The speaker was a little crackly and I had stated three times, ‘Hello”, so I started to take off and it kind of sounded like someone said “May I help you”? I drove straight to the window and they were kind enough to take my order in a very professional and pleasant manner. I was asked politely to wait off to the side. My food was delivered to the window just a few minutes later. When we got home and we ate, the food was fresh and the brisket was tender and juicy with the right amount of fat ,fries were fresh and the tea was perfect. We’ll definitely go to this location again!

My experience with this location on Roosevelt is very terrible, getting out of work very hungry. I’m expecting good food and service. I placed my order through the drive-through. Got me El rancher plate and a number four with an extra tender and Ranch for the dipping sauce. All the chicken tenders was very hard and overcooked burnt. There was no more meat in them on my El rancher plate. I got ribs and marbled brisket. They only gave me a pinch a brisket. I thought they weighed out, but it seems they didn’t. I spent really good money And we the customers keep this place open, but I’m tired of Bill Miller. Getting my order wrong all the time. I called it in and I talked to somebody. They told me to come back so they will replace it when I got there. The man said who did I talk to? I thought I was talking to a manager and he told me that I did not talk to anybody, so I’m very upset

Get to the window at drive thru at 8:55 they close at 9:30 and take forever to answer just to say pull up to see what we have i just wanted sweet tea so I asked if they have any so I wont have to waste my time waiting in a long line. They just rudely repeat the same thing! All just to wait in line and pull up to the window for them to not have any tea! Waste of time and rude. It never changes do better please.

Arrived at 8pm, placed my order and was told fries would be 20 minutes . My chicken sandwiches are always hot and crispy and they were very lukewarm. For being told I had to wait longer for fries I figured my food would at least be fresh
