This was a quaint little surprise. While driving through Kalamazoo we saw Bilbo’s and decided to stop in. I’m a Lord of the Rings fan. It was surprisingly good food. We got the pepperoni pizza that had an enormous amount of pepperoni on it. The bread is thick. I also got the spaghetti and meat sauce. We will definitely be coming back. The ambiance was not as good as the old one but still nice. I would have enjoyed more decorations similar to a dwarven hall but all in all it was a wonderful experience. Kid-friendly.

Great place! Our 1st time visiting. We loved the Lord of the Rings theme throughout. We ordered the #1 Elven Pan pizza and it was good but the crust was really thick on half the pizza and made it too heavy to eat. We took half the large home as we couldn’t finish 2 slices. They had a good amount of toppings and cheese which tasted very fresh. Their jalapeño poppers were not very good and even came out a little burned. Denise was friendly but appeared to be the only waitstaff around for a Friday lunch so we had to wait for her a few times.

My husband and I stopped here on the way home from our anniversary trip and we had a wonderful experience!! Being Lord of the Rings fans we loved the atmosphere, and the references they’ve made in their food and decor. We got the dragon feast pizza and it was honestly the best pizza we’ve ever had! Our server violet was very sweet and helpful. Overall a great experience.

Stopped here because my wife is a huge lord of the rings fan. The food was amazing some of the best and most unique pizza I’ve ever had. More like a bread bowl with incredibly savory ingredients. The Styx were just another pizza with basil and parmesian and a creamy dill dip. Everyone was polite and friendly if a little slow to get food out. The menu is very fun especially the Tom Bombadil inspired sandwich. The only downside is the location. Its obviously a converted bar in a strip mall and did not scream hobbit or lord of the rings. Some of the artwork on the walls was fun but that was the extent of the themeing. So if you are coming for a hobbit hole feel you will leave disappointed but if you want good pizza, it’s definitely worth a taste. We will be back.

I remember Bilbo’s Pizza from East Lansing before 1990 when that location closed. It was easily my favorite pizza. For my birthday, we traveled to the only remaining location in Kalamazoo. I ordered the Wizard. The whole wheat crust pan pizza has a great ratio of crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. We also got the cheesy bread with dill sauce. It was even better than I remembered. This location has less middle earth feel, but it is still nice. Service was great and our server was helpful.

This is the original bookclub, i.e. any bar that I drink and read at regularly. Although I’ve been coming here longer than I want to admit, I’m still salty they moved from just off campus to their current location before I turned 21(still told on myself). It used to be the party spot when they were located where the grato(?) is now. But they’re more conveniently located as I could walk home from them now. Their pizza is one of the best around and has won several ‘best of’ awards over the years. But for me, it’s all about the cheesy bread and dill dip. I crave that ish so bad I had to make my own mock recipe when I’m back home. It still doesn’t compete with the original. Wings and salads are on point for the lactose adverse, not sure if I’ve ever had a sandwich. They have several homebrews but that M43 keeps me coming back, even with it being so damn expensive. I usually sit at the bar, but service is always prompt and friendly. Looks like they got rid of the outdoor COVID seating, but maybe they bring it back during the warmer months. Plenty of seating inside for large groups and parties, plus pool, darts and a jukebox.

Pizza was amazing! Non-pizza food was majorly mediocre. Great atmosphere though. Didn’t try the beer this time, but we will def be coming back to try more. We also bought tshirts and a cup. Overall, it was a cool experience. I would recommend sticking to the pizza related food though. I LOVED the stuffed pizza.

My girlfriend and I visited today and had a mixed experience. The service was decent and the atmosphere was clean and inviting. We paid $33.00 for a small pizza, a large salad, a black coffee, and two waters. The salad was great, especially the dressing. However, the pizza didn’t hit the mark; the toppings are placed under the cheese, which leaves them undercooked. It would be nice to have a thinner crust option for the small size, as the dough here is quite unique—it’s very reminiscent of old-fashioned, home-cooked Bisquick dough. It wasn’t quite what we were looking for today. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great.

Want the best tasting pizza in kalamazoo? Look no further. Worth every dollar. Try our go to: Pan pizza on wheat crust: pulled pork (yes, that’s a topping here!), spinach mix, and either banana pepper or pineapple. Pro tip: add a bilbos house salad (always fresh) and dip your pizza in the dressing.
