The Bigo’s experience begins with the satisfying crunch of fresh, light tortilla chips, creating a perfect, crisp base for the vibrant salsas. The salsa verde offers a zesty, tangy flavor with a lively heat that builds with each bite, while the pico de gallo provides a rich, deep flavor of diced, ripe tomatoes, jalapeños, onion and cilantro with a chunky homestyle consistency that complements the chips. Happy Hour is 3 PM thru 6 PM. Lunch Specials are offered 11 AM thru 3 PM. We ordered the Tacos Matamoros with beef fajita, cheese and avocados, very delicious homemade tacos, the chef definitely understands the assignment. We also ordered the fajitas de res plate. These terrific fajitas are a delightful sensory experience, marinated steak, grilled onions, and peppers, ready to be wrapped in warm, street size, corn tortillas and loaded with fresh toppings. The perfectly cooked Mexican rice is fluffy, with individual grains that are tender but not mushy, and a vibrant, inviting red-orange hue. Its aroma is fragrant with notes of toasted rice, garlic, onion, and warm spices like cumin. The refried beans offer a rich, earthy aroma with savory notes of onion, garlic, and perhaps a hint of cumin or smoky spice. In vibrant contrast, the exquisite aguacate (avocado), perfectly ripe, presents a beautiful bright to deep green flesh that is a visual delight. It possesses a mild, fresh, and subtly herbaceous aroma, quite distinct from the beans’ warmth. The texture is its defining feature: a smooth, velvety, almost buttery mouthfeel that yields effortlessly to pressure and melts on the tongue, offering a complex, rich, yet delicate flavor profile that is both nutty and faintly sweet, balancing the robust, savory nature of the refried beans with its cool, creamy elegance. The restaurant’s interior offers a delightful feast for the eyes, with a decor that captures the vibrant spirit of Mexico through a palette of multi-color pastel hues. The walls are washed in playful, contrasting shades of seafoam green, coral pink, and sunny yellow, which are perfectly complemented by rich, wooden furniture and traditional accents like intricate hand-painted tiles and woven textiles. The overall atmosphere is one of warmth and welcome, heightened by the soft, comfortable lighting that casts a gentle glow throughout the space. This thoughtful illumination, perhaps filtering through unique blown glass or forged iron fixtures, creates a cozy and intimate ambiance that encourages guests to relax and savor a memorable dining experience. We are looking forward to returning here again to experience the cozy atmosphere, Mexican coke, beer, cocktails and to explore more of the available menu options. Our waitress America was so delightful and attentive, her food recommendations were spot on, and her cheerful smile was captivating and contagious. Best of all, they serve Mexican Coke here. Also, the restrooms are bright, clean and smell fresh..

My experience here was not so great, food and drinks was pretty bad, customer service was great, no complaints. I started off with the regular chips and salsa, chips were cold and stale and salsa was watered down, could definitely tell whoever made it has no idea how to make a salsa. Fine, got the queso flameado with chorizo starter and a salty dog beverage (mixed drink). It was good until I got served my drink, one tall glass of vodka on the rocks followed by “would you like your drink with juice”???? Uhh what. Yea I said and she brought me a separate cup for the juice. Photos below. Why run a bar if you can’t mix drinks. Then for the main entree I ordered a fajita tampiquena and the fajita was so chewy and definitely not fresh. It literally tasted like 1. The cook has no idea how to cook fajita or 2. It was pre cooked, frozen, then thawed and reheated and served. And I ordered this after I was told I couldn’t get enchiladas Rojas because they didn’t have it available.

Overall, mediocre food, mediocre bar service, excellent staff, could definitely do better.

Let’s get right into it. Upon arrival there is not a hostess to greet you, or sign that says please seat yourself. The food is good, but some items do not come with the sides (cheese, sour cream, guacamole, flour tortillas) as normal. Plates for sharing such as (2) or (4) people also do not come with rice, beans, to make the fajita tacos. Regular chips and sauce are not served here either, nor queso. So as you sit you are given a cup of pinto beans, and a basket of chips which are a little hard…but the salsa is not for dipping it’s for whatever you may order such as tacos, but if a burger is ordered then the combination seems out of sorts. When the food arrives it’s the meat, and corn tortillas.. but it said on the menu charro beans comes with it, well the beans given to you when seated counts towards the plate. Kind of confusing, so you have to order rice, guacamole separate… and the plain guacamole is $9.99 before tax. So basically you have to order everything separate. The taste of the food is good though. The floor is clean, but the small chairs are unstable, especially against the somewhat slippery tile floor.. careful with sitting down, hold your chair. I will update this review if needed as I further complete my tasks in this area. #corporate #evaluation worldwide

I tried this place for the first time and ordered the Huarache Fajita Taco—wow! The flavors were incredible. The tortilla was soft and fresh, the fajita meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the toppings tied everything together beautifully. You can tell they take pride in their food because every bite tasted homemade and authentic. The service was friendly and quick, and the whole atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!

This was a nice, clean place. Friendly staff and we didn’t have to wait long for our orders unless you ordered something that requires time. A bit out of my preferred price range. Disappointed to find fries don’t come with the burger order. So skipped it.

We had the most delightful evening at Bigo’s off Padre Island Hwy. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so inviting, and every dish was an absolute dream. We particularly want to give a huge shout-out to our incredible waitress, Valeria. Her warmth and attentiveness truly made our night extra special.

Valeria went above and beyond, making perfect recommendations and ensuring every detail was taken care of with a genuine smile. Her excellent service and kind demeanor really elevated our dining experience. It’s people like Valeria who make a restaurant truly stand out!

If you’re looking for fantastic food and exceptional service, we highly recommend Bigo’s. And if you’re lucky enough to have Valeria as your server, you’re in for a treat! Thank you, Bigo’s, and especially Valeria, for a memorable night!

Where do I start? We were traveling for work. Recommend by hotel manager. A+! We had skirt steak fajitas for two. The beans they give you are the tastiest beans we have ever had! Portions were plenty! Steak was tender and moist! Not dried out like most fajitas are! Margaritas were amazing! I had a regular on the rocks and hubby had watermelon both were fantastic! If you want authentic Mexican food and great margaritas at very fair prices you have to try this place when in Brownsville Tx!

I went for lunch this morning, and the waitress Ashley served me very well. She gave me great recommendations. My soda was always refilled, and she was very attentive to our needs; we didn’t even have to ask. She already had it ready. She’s the best waitress we’ve had since we started going to that place for lunch… 100% recommended.

Came through on our way to South Padre. We had been traveling all day, tired, hungry and a tad crabby. Our server Ashley was the absolute best! So kind and friendly. My 13 year old said it was the best Mexican food he has ever had. Amazing food, people and drinks. We left full and very happy. Thank you guys!
