Great sandwich shop! It was amazing. I had the americano panini and my bread was fresh, cooked perfectly. Also, if you sit in the back you can be served by the little lady… the robot not me.
I have been back since and had the Italian on the garlic bread, and it was epic, however I discovered that a large is too much for me. It was sooooo good though. Love the service and the options. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this place. The sandwiches are great and they have good menu variety, the atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, and even getting food to-go is a seamless experience. Also, their prices are low! They were so cheap and even after the price increase a few months ago they’re still really cheap compared to most spots in town. I’ll always recommend Big Town Hero!

Talk about never coming back. Order a panini for pick up, extra pickles, no onion, Italian dressing on the side. This panini looks and tastes like it was made last week. The tomato looks like it was rotten to begin with, and surprise surprise, one pickle is extra to them. Never again. I threw out my panini.

Went in at 11AM today, there was nobody else in the shop except me and an online order pickup. I ordered two sandwiches, the cashier was extremely rude. The sandwiches were tiny, one piece of pastrami is not enough for a sandwich. The meat was burnt, the sandwich was flavorless, and the bread was not baked through, soggy and raw dough. Absolutely disgusting food and horrible customer service. Will never return. Oh and it took 30 minutes for two sandwiches!! Ridiculous.

The first time I went to a Big Town Hero was in 97′ in Salem. Had the “Very Berry Turkey.” To say there is a store in Portland area got me giddy would be a great understatement. I went in, was greeted promptly and courteously. The food was just as good as I remembered.
