We ate fish fry and fried mushrooms.
Fish fry came with 2 sides, we chose collard green and crinkle fries).
Photo of food was taken after some fries from spouse’s plate were decided to jump into my plate (with the force of my own hand haha).
Food is great.

We stopped by Big Tom’s for breakfast and tried the Reuben sandwich — it was absolutely delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked, the bread was toasted just right, and everything tasted super fresh. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and clean. Definitely a place worth coming back to for breakfast or brunch!

Big Tom’s strikes me as a classic locals diner. The kind of place that has plenty of regulars. Everything we ordered was quite good and the portions were big to say the least. The average eater could easily share a single meal with a friend and be satisfied. My daughter had the Cuban sandwich and made the claim that it was about the best she has had! I especially enjoyed the cole slaw that came with my meal. The service was friendly and efficient to top it all off. Big Tom’s is a winner if you ask me.

It’s been a while since we’ve been there but the food is good old home cooked foods at a reasonable price and a almost guaranteed enough left over to take home some. The waitress Raven that waited on us is very patient and understanding. We briefly spoke with the owner who is very nice, considering I spilled a full glass of water all over me and the floor.
The atmosphere was clean and welcoming.
I had the country fried steak along with two sides which were collard greens and cabbage. And also had the minestrone soup which was an interesting variation. My wife had to beef tips and mushrooms and mac and cheese with minestrone soup which she enjoyed. And again we took a full carry-out box of leftovers.
Plenty of parking and handicap accessible also children appear to be welcome there just make sure they bring their appetites.
I recommend big Tom’s diner if you went good old home cooked food with enough serve the first time when your plate.

We stopped into this place for the first time today. We enjoyed the breakfast special of 3 eggs, potatoes, and toast for $5.75. We both left stuffed! Our server Cheryl was very efficient and personable- we’ll be requesting her at future visits :). This is the type of place where you are treated like a “regular”, even if you’re a first-timer like we were. Highly recommend!

My wife and moved to Eagle Lake a couple of months ago from Orlando and we were trying to find out where the good eats are. We stumbled across Big Tom’s Diner and decided to give it a try 01/25/26. If you want no frills good food and friendly service, then you’re in the right place. Big menu. Huge portions!

I have just moved to the area and loves diners in general. My first experience was an early dinner at Big Tom’s. The food was good, not exceptional, portions were large, sweet tea was very good. We sat in a booth, which was comfortable and comfortable. Service was good, quick with plenty of attention after we were served. The price was reasonable.
Today were returned for breakfast. It was not crowded, be we were seated at a table only a couple of feet from a party of 4. They were so close, it was like be at the table with them. They were very talkative, to a degree that we could not have a pleasant conversation.
We ordered a breakfast Omlette with hash browns, I had a biscuit, my partner dry wheat toast.
Coffee was brought right away, but was bitter, and even milk didn’t improve it much. The breakfast arrived quickly, but though my biscuit was on my platter, rather than on a separate plate, my partners toast didn’t arrive for about 5 minutes. The biscuit was good, the toast was cold.
The Omlette was of moderate size, with the hash browns being the prominent feature. The hash browns were crispy outside, but undercooked inside. The omelette was a meatlover, but the meat was sparce.
Once we finished eating, the bill was presented, and I payed with a card. It took several minutes for the waitress to return.
I guess I would give it a C- grade. I will not return for breakfast. I likely won’t return for dinner either.

Big Tom’s Diner is a must-visit spot for both breakfast and lunch! The food is simply incredible—whether you’re craving hearty breakfast dishes or a satisfying lunch, they’ve got you covered. The biscuits and gravy were absolutely massive and packed with flavor, truly a meal on their own. On top of the fantastic food, the staff adds to the experience. Our waitress was amazing—energetic, friendly, and full of life, making us feel right at home. Highly recommend stopping by for a great meal and even better service!

I’m a fan of the retro era, and this restaurant nails it. The staff wear diner uniforms and the walls have posters that make you feel like you went back in time. My husband and I have come here 3 times now, and this is what we ordered last time. My husband ordered the supreme breakfast burritos with a side of potatoes, and I ordered a pancake, eggs, and sausages. They were really good. They give you so much food for less money than in fast food restaurants. Big Tom’s Diner is one of those restaurants that caused us to no longer buy breakfast in fast food restaurants. This is quality breakfast for less. Their corned beef hash is to die for, I ordered it the first two times we came for breakfast. The eggs Benedict and their potato casserole are amazing. Their biscuits are big and fluffy as well. Great service and food for an affordable price! ️
