Love big tomato, have ordered many times, this had to be the worst. Ordered 4 large pizzas, waited over 2 hours for delivery, we are well aware it may take awhile, but pizzas were burnt and dry.

Pretty good late night NY style pizza. My go to is always pepperoni or honey garlic Alfredo. Carry-out only and I believe it was 3-4 dollars a slice. Food tasted pretty good but different from what I remember during my initial visits when I first moved to des moines.

I spent 65.00 bucks on pizza, Italian fries, and a clazone. The food was trash. It was burnt and all dried out. I’ve had their food in the past so I told my husband and kids how good it was. Only to buy it on the New Year and find out the place has really went down hill. I never leave reviews but this was so nasty. What a waste of money

Great late night spot if you want to pick up a slice! If I end up on Ingersoll I’ll usually stop here at the end of the night. They didn’t have any slices ready Tuesday evening but they were nice and made a pizza with toppings we wanted so we could grab some slices after checking out a few shops. I’m sure they had no issues selling the rest. Their pizza is the bomb! My first time having it was after suffering COVID in early 2021. Let me tell you, it was magic after having lost my smell and taste. Maybe it’s what brought it back! I’ll always have love for this place! There’s a few seats inside but we usually just grab a slice and go. Love the staff here! But, the pizza, is the main reason I keep coming back. Perfect crust, just enough sauce, great flavor combos…A++

Big Tomato is a local joint that been around during our youth years and now our adult years. It’s one of those places that you never regret ordering or spending money there. The food is great and the staff is even greater. Every time I ask for a clean knife to be used to cut my pizzas do to religious and dietary reasons, they do it and are very respectful caring people.

Probably the best pizza around downtown Des Moines if not the entire city. Had not been here since nursing school in 2005. Very happy we decided to stop for lunch after my brother picked me up from the airport. Still reasonably priced and made to order. Thin crust is the best in my opinion. Support local!!

…. I come here consistently. I know the owner and come in with my dog. I order a pizza on Valentines Day, and they are missing green pepper, pineapple, Philly steak, and graziano sausage. We asked for a refund for our $40 pizza, only to be brought back the pizza to only get $5 cash back. Oh? And they threw in the rest of their uncooked green pepper. Lousy service is on the door, but the worker admitted he never looked at our ticket, and we paid a decent price for our food and patiently waited.
