The bartender explains to me they don’t make an old fashioned because they “don’t want to,” while ignoring me and flirting with college students much his junior. I asked if they were understaffed, and he explained no while tending to a bar where guests are not even given the opportunity to be given what they want…..what? Perhaps he would make me one if I were female and 15 years younger than him.

Terrible. NEVER have I met a bar owner who was SO rude to customers. The place just changed hands and got a pretty new bar. Yet, it was dead at 1am while even the bar next door still had a line. Halloween night, streets so crowded that people had to walk on the street.. I’m guessing we weren’t the only customers that guy has been nasty to. Bar tender didn’t know how to make any drinks and the guy hired to clean her glasses and take out the garbage (literally) apparently wasn’t allowed to. According to the owner, because he doesn’t trust the kid he hired. Very uncomfortable. Didn’t stay long. Won’t be returning. Such a shame. The place was known for being fun and laid back. Motown lost a great place.

This place is an absolute BANGER! The staff is always nice and pleasant, especially Mr. Merino, who by the way, serves amazing drinks. I couldn’t tell you a time I had to wait an extended amount of time for a drink because there wasn’t one. I think the environment is real fun. There are pool tables for you to play with, and you can play a trivia game on the tv there. The bathroom is super clean for the most part, unlike some bars in Morgantown that has urine all over the floors and sometimes dookie smeared about. The bar itself is the main attraction where you’ll have a nice selection of your favorite drinks to choose from. If you want a cosmo or an exotic fruit infused Michelob, you can get it all.

Bartenders were obviously intoxicated, and the one I dealt with seemed hopped on stimulants. They were being rude to customers and escalating interactions with staff into altercations. It would’ve been a good time if they were happy drunk, but no, they were aggressive drunk, so just a sad experience to watch overall.

I was back in town after a few years living all over the place, and a friend decided we should go check out Big Times. II was excited, probably because I remember Big Times before the new ownership and staff. As it currently sits, this HAS to be the worst bar in Morgantown. It is certainly the worst bar I’ve been to, there or anywhere else. To make a long story short, I tipped my bartender early in the evening, in cash, so I wouldn’t drink too much and inadvertently leave without tipping later. I’ve worked in bars before, seen that done, and even done it a few times myself. It’s not cool. So, anyway, when it’s time to cash out, I sign my tab (with no tip, as I’ve already tipped around 40% of the total in cash earlier). The female bartender, who was not the bartender earlier in the evening when I paid the cash tip, “called me out” loudly in front of the whole bar, accusing me of not leaving a tip. At that point, she had rallied the whole bar against me and two patrons in particular became really loud and aggressive toward me. It was getting to the point that I felt threatened, like I was going to be attacked by the entire bar. I walked out, while a few drunk people shouted insults toward me for no reason, and I will NEVER return to this dump again. New ownership should clean house with regard to staff, because your reputation takes further damage every day. Don’t believe me – just read the other Google reviews here since you’ve taken over.

Big Times used to be one of my favorite places to end an evening out drinking.
Management seems to have changed. Most of the bartenders seem like they’re barely 21. They’re classless and don’t know how to make drinks. They’re rude to some customers.
There are very obvious health code violations every time I’ve been in Big Times recently.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOURE A WOMAN!!!
I went out With my friends as I would usually do during spring break I went up to the bar to get drinks on my friends tab and a gentleman asked if he could buy me a drink I politely declined and walked away and before I knew it the male bartender was running up to me and started screaming in my face calling me very disrespectful names. The gentleman that I rejected drinks from told the bartender that I was harassing him and that I needed to be kicked out! I asked if I could defend myself because I talked to him only once and he told me he didn’t care what I had to say and said even more disrespectful things and even threatened to get physical with me. on top of that when a group of girls walked over I thought they were defending me when they were defending him!! This is not a safe place to go.
