We had such an incredible experience at this hidden gem just on the edge of downtown Asheville.

Everything we tried was rich in flavor and clearly made with so much care and attention to detail. You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
Sudeep was our server and he made the whole experience even better — he was knowledgeable about the menu, answering all of our questions and giving great recommendations based on what we were looking for. His kindness and attentiveness made us feel really taken care of.

If you’re craving authentic Indian food in Asheville, this place is a must-visit. Let’s help keep amazing local spots like this thriving!

Place was really slow hardly anybody in there, it is Wednesday night. Ordered our food , started to slowly come out, have to say this was the best vegetable Korma I have ever had. The other dishes were fabulous as well. Chicken was so flavorful and tender on the kebabs, and the lamb was just as tender. some people complained about service being really slow maybe on a busy night but tonight as good as the food was it really didn’t take that long. Everything tasted fresh made.

Every dish I have tried has been superb. Every dish! The Lamb chops are amazing and I usually dont care for lamb chops. The Butter chicken is one of my favorite dishes. But I dont think you can go wrong with any entree or any appetizer here. The service is good and the quality is just hit-your-spot amazing. Love this place.

We started with the chili paneer appetizer – perfectly spiced and bursting with flavor. For mains, we had the butter chicken and the beef rendang, which was off-the-hook delicious. Every dish was rich, balanced, and cooked to perfection.

Our server, Raghu, was incredible – friendly, attentive, and gave us spot-on recommendations for everything we ordered. The service and food together made it one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Asheville.

Highly recommend Big Tikka to anyone who loves bold, authentic flavors and warm hospitality.

Absolutely phenomenal Indian cuisine. This is a new restaurant in town—the owner informed us that this was their first week in business—but their menu, service, and atmosphere are all so refined that you wouldn’t know it. Check out this spot before they get big. I would bet my bottom dollar that Big Tikka will have a line out the door during dinner service within the next few months. It’s THAT good.

We started with a mango lassi and a paneer appetizer. The lassi was so flavorful and rich, and the paneer was absolutely heavenly. The peppers and onions were perfectly cooked, but the star of the show was the chili simmer sauce—SO delicious! I had the chicken briyani, my husband ordered the butter chicken, and my mom ordered paneer in an herb sauce. All three dishes came out quickly and were delicious. The butter chicken had a very rich sauce, probably the best we’ve ever had—and we’re big foodies!—while the briyani was perfectly spiced and tender. My mom said her paneer was great. We split two orders of naan, one garlic and one chili/garlic/cheese. Suffice to say we’ll be dreaming of that naan! It was warm and delightfully chewy with just enough spice.

The service was great. Our servers were very attentive and friendly, and we even got to meet the owner & hear his story. The owner just moved to Asheville from New Zealand, so some of the menu options are inspired by NZ cuisine. We had such a great evening and cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely meal! We will definitely be back.

Large windows illuminate the pleasantly spacious, comfortable interior of this new Indian restaurant on Rankin. One of the partners, Anil, told me that this store is preceded by two others in Auckland, NZ, and is the first and only US outpost.

The Mango Lassi was delicious and beautifully presented.

My Kundan Makhani Paneer had a moderate spicy kick with satisfying complexity and depth of flavor.

The Kheer (traditional Indian rice pudding) was refreshing, with just the right level of sweetness.

Service was top-notch; thanks everyone, I’ll be back!

The food was very disappointing. My friend hyped it up so maybe that’s why I felt more disappointed. The naan was a bit stale and tasted bland. I got the lamb sauce and it was very watery with very little meat. The meat was cut into tiny pieces too. It was also very pricey. The waiter was lovely and very attentive. The service was quick and the food came out warm.

Really delicious Indian food. The sister restaurant is in New Zealand and there are couple items on the menu that have the NZ connection. The other Indian restaurants in Asheville have some competition.

I particularly liked the palak paneer. My fiancé said the lamb dishes are amazing.
