Everything we had was so good, so fresh and innovative. Wine was reasonable and cocktails were delicious. No kids menu and our son was the only kid in there but he loves mussels so we knew what he was eating before we got there.

Hanging out in Webster Groves and decided to check out the Happy Hour fare at Big Sky Cafe. What a treat! The $7 BBQ shrimp (4 pieces) with the polenta was delicious- shrimp was tenderly juicy coated in a yummy bbq sauce, complimenting the polenta’s perfectly cheesey-creamy texture. Shared the spinach & smoked gouda grilled cheese bites with the tomato basil soup – also a great option and also just $7!

Sat at the bar area without a reservation and enjoyed the communal atmosphere of this 30-year establishment. Great service and the dinner menu is calling my name for a return visit!

Big Sky Cafe is a cute spot with fun decor and a comfortable feel. It was busy on a Saturday night, so service ran a little slow, but our server was friendly and answered questions without rushing us.

We shared mussels, the beet salad, the soup flight, and the pot roast. Everything was good and tasted well prepared. The mussel broth was flavorful. The soups were excellent. The pumpkin and pear soup leaned toward a dessert profile but fit the season perfectly. The beet salad was not the typical style. The beets had a crisp texture you do not usually see, but the flavor was good and the goat cheese worked well. The pot roast was also solid with tender meat and plenty of flavor.

Dessert was the coconut chocolate pie. It had sliced almonds that added some crunch and the portion was large enough to share. Drinks included the brandy margarita and the elderflower gimlet. Both were fine but the margarita was the standout. The cognac note gave it a deeper flavor.

Overall, a pleasant dinner with good food and a cozy setting. I would return. This is the perfect spot to bring pretty much everybody, maybe not vegan, but plenty of options for vegetarians and pescatarians. A crowd pleaser.

4/5 because although it’s good and solid. Don’t think any dish blew me away. But that prob will not stop us from considering it again.

Our first time at restaurant. The restaurant is tucked away towards the end of the street. Arrived around 7:45pm on a rainy Thursday evening. Restaurant wasn’t crowded so they seated everyone in one section. The restaurant has an eclectic 90’s vibe which was cool. We started with soup and we shared the Ozark Forest Mushroom and Asparagus Soup and the Chilled Roast Beet with Black Bean Soups. I enjoyed the flavors of the Ozark soup. It had lemon and arugula. The soup was brothy with a lot of depth. The beet soup surprised me on how great it tasted. The soup was creamy and it had goat cheese crème on top which added to the richness of the soup. Then we shared the Big Sky Cheddar Burger cook medium. The burger came with a brioche bun which was slightly toasted. The burger meat was tender and flavorful. Jim was our server and he did an excellent job and we appreciated his guidance with ordering.

A real gem of a place for foodies. The lead chef curates a small but delectable menu focusing on locally sourced and seasonal options that rotate frequently. It’s attached to an assisted living facility so the clientele definitely skews high, and the limited dining hours (generally split between lunch and early dinner) might turn off some diners. It’s the food, though, that really shines here and never fails to impress. Menu items fresh as they come, bold at times and comforting at others, always encouraging exploration.

How this place isn’t packed every day for lunch boggles my mind. I know Tuesday may be a slow lunch day so go then. The food is delicious and the selection extremely difficult to choose from.
I brought a large group and the staff was so accommodating, with excellent service.

Super great service, delish drinks and food!
We had the Nola BBQ shrimp, crab cakes and roasted root veggies and all were amazing! The slushy old fashion drink was so yummy! Mom said the tomato soup was the best she’d ever had too!
I look forward to coming back, there are so many things that look so good it’s hard to decide and will take multiple trips to try it all!

The trout was stupendous! The meatloaf was good but the pot roast is still my wife’s favorite. Don’t forget to start off with the goat cheese cheesecake and end with the carrot cake cupcakes.

This is just a little snapshot of good restaurant in Webster Groves near Webster University. Came here with a girlfriend before we went to the Rep. to see a play. Nice vibe, good food, service and I loved the decor. The happy hour specials were great! We had crab cakes, roasted Brussels sprouts and it was perfect! I would love to come back when it warms up to enjoy the patio.
