One of the new additions to the Steel District in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The interior gives a diner feeling which is warm and inviting. The servers were attentive and friendly. The food came out relatively quickly however I believe our expectations were set too high regarding the taste since it was a new restaurant and there was a lot of hype. We will give it another try eventually but overall I would give Big Sioux Burger a “Meets Expectations” rating.

PROS
– Great atmosphere. Tons of wall decal and neon lights
– Large tap beer selection
– Great outdoor seating
– Great food presentation
– Lots of bar seating
– Walking distance to the Falls Park

CONS
– Beware that the Big Sioux burger has a special sauce that is a tad bitter. Others may like it but we were not fans.
– Parking is limited if you want to park within the Steel District area. You may have to park on Phillips Ave and take a short walk into the Steel District.
– The menu is a tad short. Please add more variety.

You’ll never know until you actually try it!!

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t let myself be influenced by someone that might’ve had a bad experience.

And im not implying that the person is lying, but if you really, really, really wanna know how something tastes, you need to actually bite it!
I always like to try it my self before I can make any judgement.

For starters you can’t beat the place! The place is located on the steel District next to the Silver river with all those new and beautiful areas everywhere you look!

The atmosphere it’s the perfect sports bar meets 70s lodge, with breakfast until 5 PM and burger specials everyday Not to mention, happy hour and karaoke on the weekends!

And maybe it’s because I went on a slow day, but Amanda, my server was very attentive, always looking out and make sure that my glasses is always full because I need my drinks If you know what I’m talking about.

And for food, I have one of the best burgers in a while. I have chicken burger with cucumber salad, and Thai peanut sauce.
You can actually taste each ingredient in every bite!!!! My fave!!!! THAI CHICKEN BURGER.

So make sure you’re going with an open mind (and did I get to mention the prices? The prices are low and I mean low for this area.

We went with the intention of only enjoying their burger battle burger. Then we saw some items on the menu that intrigued us and was so glad we tried them.

This was our first visit to Big Sioux Burger, and we were excited to finally try it out. We chose to sit outside, and the patio area did not disappoint — it was spacious with a great view of Falls Park and the added bonus of watching planes take off overhead. A perfect setting for a relaxed lunch.
We specifically came to try the burger of the month, but unfortunately, we found the flavor a bit underwhelming. After adding salt and pepper, the taste improved slightly, but it still felt like it needed a stronger balsamic vinegar punch to tie everything together.
On the upside, the fries and tots were fantastic — crispy, well-cooked, and definitely a highlight. The accompanying sauces, while decent, didn’t really enhance the experience. We also tried the fried mushrooms for the first time. They had promise, but too much oil trapped between the breading and mushroom made them soggy instead of crunchy.
Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and service overall was great. We opted for lunch since we’ve noticed it can get quite loud during supper hours. While there were some hits and misses, we might give it another shot down the road — just not in the immediate future.

Oooooohhhhh! Beyond impressed! I usually am skeptical of “fun flavored burgers” because so often I find tasty toppings on a blah unseasoned burger. However, BIG SIOUX BURGER redefined the burger! They NAILED the smash burger- thin | salty | crusty – all the great things PLUS fun fresh toppings.

And the onion rings, I usually avoid onion rings because most places cant cook them to get the whole ring crispy. These were perfect!

Our waitress was Mikaela and she was attentive, conversational, and helpful. I can’t wait to come back!

Stopped into The Dive in the Steel District for karaoke and had a blast. The place was packed with good energy, a fun crowd, and zero pressure vibes, whether you were singing or just hanging out. Drinks were solid, staff kept things moving, and the atmosphere made it easy to stay longer than planned. Great late night spot if you’re looking for something lively and unpretentious. Would absolutely do karaoke here again.

Went here for breakfast on a weekday and were the only ones there. Nice patio and good service. Breakfast burrito was huge and pretty good. My son’s pancakes were decent. My wife had the breakfast sandwich which was huge as well but pretty greasy, dripping with butter. Her hashbrowns were way too salty… and I like salt, but they were pretty bad. Will be back to give there burgers a try.

We ate here on a Monday afternoon, Not busy and easy to get a table. My wife had a Cobb salad and they forgot the boiled eggs which is no big deal but it was a negative. Overall she said it was good. I had a burger with onion rings. Onion rings were excellent and burger was pretty good.
The place just opened in October so i feel they still need to develop their own sort of food vibe which will attract customers. Their location is excellent and price was reasonable.
If I was going for a burger and fries this would not be my first choice. But if you are out on the trails and want to eat at the Steel district this would still be a good choice. I really hope they develop into a great little sports bar because they do have some great things going for them.

Glad that there’s more burger competition in town. This place is great! I got the onion burger with tater tots. The burger was fantastic, lots of flavor and well balanced considering it’s a burger that’s all onion toppings, the tots were well seasoned and not very greasy. You also get a boat load of tots which was a huge plus. Definitely will be returning with friends and family. If you’re walking around the Steel District, highly recommend giving them a look !

The wings are fantastic and huge. Love the seasoning on the tots and onion rings. Had the classic burger too – did not disappoint.
Probably wouldn’t recommend the Caesar salad though, a little lacking.
