Wow! We knew from previous reviews that we were in for a treat but when we actually took our first bite we knew we had found our new favorite burger joint. We decided to stick with their traditional smash burger and fries, and they didn’t disappoint. We figure if you can make the classics well, then the rest has gotta be good. We started with two burgers (one single patty, one double) and an order of fries, and enjoyed it so much that we went back for another burger and dessert for the road. We couldn’t resist.
The location has all the charm and simplicity you would expect in a small town general store. You can grab your groceries and a smash burger all in one trip. And although there isn’t a designated seating area, we found our car to be a suitable alternative. Big thumbs up to Big Shaun’s Smash Burgers!

This is one of those places that makes the true foodies heart sing! Today was our first visit but I can tell you with complete certainty it will not be our last! The burgers and fries were so good they left you wanting more, the menu is small but they have the art of burger making pretty darn perfected! Customer service here is refreshing, exactly what you would hope for in a smalltown.
Also for anyone traveling with a trailer the parking lost is very accessible, the driveway a tad steep but still easily manageable with a 30 foot trailer.

This is NOT for this location, but their new food cart in Rockaway Beach is FIRE!! Unfortunately, there is not a page on Google for their new food truck yet, but I had to share my experience. My sweetheart got the Big Shaun smash burger, and a large fry, I ordered the lamb and beef Gyro. Our food came freshly cooked, the burger was massive and my burger snob hubs, gave it the “ohhh mayo Goooshhh” first bite reaction. Their fries are crunchy and perfectly seasoned, and my Gyro, received my own version of the “oh my Gosh” bite.
Now, to the staf, friendly, patient, anticipatory and just so friendly! I even commented to hubs that they were so on top if things, and follow up!

Legit one of the juiciest best burgers and the fries are perfect. The special sauce is not like any sauce you’ve had. And we got to meet Big Shaun himself! (Counter is in the Mohler Market so no sit down place but benches outside on good days and your car when it’s raining. Worth the drive from wherever you’re coming.

We had a great first experience at Big Shaun’s smash burgers in Rockaway Beach! The staff was super friendly and helpful and were so sweet when my husband wanted to add bacon at the last minute . I got the deluxe and my husband got the big mac type burger with 3 buns and two patties, bacon and jalapeños. For the size and amount of toppings, I was surprised at how the burger stayed intact and honestly were two of the best burgers we’ve ever had. The fries are also fantastic. We can’t wait to come back and try other burgers. We are so glad they have a location in Rockaway. You have regulars when we are in town now and we will tell all of our guests to come to Big Shaun’s. Tysm.

The burger was worth it. Traveling solo from the Midwest, I made a day of my drive from Salem. Along the way I passed the sign saying “smash burgers” and made a turn around to grab a burger. However, don’t plan to make this a rest stop and enjoy. It’s definitely grab and go! When I asked the person working the market if there was a restroom I could use while I waited, she quickly said no. The smirk of a smile she gave me, like she was proud to deny restroom access was comical. Go for the burger not the friendly greeting.

It’s a window front inside of a grocery store. WHY WAS IT THE BEST BURGER EVER! Seriously, go eat here. I got a double smash burger with hot honey sauce and jalapenos and it was so delicious! The fried were amazing too!

Stop into this place and order some of the best smash burgers around. It’s easy to miss because it’s in an unsuspecting location inside a local market.
This is my family’s first time staying in Nehalem. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and mouth-watering flavor bomb from these burgers. The burgers are fresh made-to-order. We ordered the Spicy Smash, Regular Smash, Breakfast Smash, and chicken tenders and jojos. Honestly one of the best smash burgers we’ve had. There isn’t any seating so be prepared to take to-go or eat in/around your car…not sure if they have any tables during the summer months. We didn’t mind though since it was a quick drive back to our short term rental.

First time here, I’m a local and have been excited to check it out from the community buzz on social media. With tip and a couple extras, it was a $20 burger, and I gotta say totally worth it! I ordered the spicy smash burger with bacon, very satisfying, however I didn’t taste anything notably “spicy” apart from when I bit into a jalapeño, it says it has a sriracha honey sauce on it, but I didn’t pick up on that, maybe next time I’ll order extra on the side. The fries and biggie sauce were perfect. Took off a star only because the pickles were far past their prime, after biting into that I had to spit it out. After picking off the rest of the pickles I happily finished the burger, next time I’ll ask for pickles on the side just in case they’re like that again. Overall, I look forward to this maybe being a Monday routine of mine (they give a double punch on the card on Mondays!)
