I’ve been here a few times as it’s not far from my work. Always friendly and quick service. Their sauce is different from any other I’ve had around town. It’s a bit thinner and not as sweet. It adds nice flavor without overpowering the meat. Usually, I just get a beef sandwich, but today, I tried their rib dinner. I chose waffle fries and bbq beans as my sides. Those beans were hands down the best beans I’ve had in KC! They were sweet, smokey, and meaty with just a little spice. So good!! The waffle fries were ok. Ribs were tender but not mushy and they were thick. Not too fatty. I really liked them. Five ribs, 2 sides, and bread for $15.99 is a great deal. I’ll definitely be back.

The cashier/waitress Jenny is super nice and attentive. As far as the food…The poppers were good and my mom liked the fried mushrooms. But she definitely was not thrilled with the ribs. Not very tender. Being that she doesn’t have teeth she was looking forward to some meat falling off the bone type of rib. They will serve them dry or with sauce. Which is a nice option. I ate them because, honestly I was hungry.

My first time eating real Kansas BBQ and it was DELICIOUS!!! I had brisket and ribs, steak fries, baked beans and a soda. My favorite were the ribs and the baked beans. Some locals recommended this restaurant and I’m so glad they did. I will definitely eat here again. I did use the restroom and I will say it needs a little updating.

DON’T EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND HEALTH!

If I could leave a 0/5 star rating I would. Not only was the food old and just sitting in a warming tray, but everything tastes like everything else. The sweet tea tasted like pickles, the Dr. Pibb tasted like cola, and the glasses and tables were dirty. my partner couldn’t even tell the difference between the pulled pork and the burnt beef ends (which it wasn’t even burnt ends it was just shredded beef with some liquid smoke and BBQ sauce, in both the pork and the beef). The best thing here was the onion rings. We came out from Oregon and were the unfortunate recipients of the WORST BBQ IN KANSAS, or even the US. I didn’t even get down the road past the shell gas station/Xpress mart before I puked my guts out. Being someone that has worked in food most of my younger years, I know, for a fact, that the food was either yesterday’s, or it was left out too long or something. You don’t get sick that fast without something being SERIOUSLY wrong. The price was 40 and some change for 2 plates and an appetizer with drinks. It was terrible for the cash even if it didn’t make you sick. DO NOT DINE HERE. send the health inspector or something. There is something terribly wrong. We should have just left. Even took 20 mins to get out take out boxes, they had no other customers and had three people “working”.

Let me say the service was top notch and friendly, and the seating and parking were great for our large crowd of 10. The fries were amazing, though more just seasoned, rather than “spicy” as it says on the menu. Unfortunately, for this Texan family the brisket and pulled pork were dry and bland

We stopped here on our vacation and it didn’t disappoint! The ribs were fantastic! The sauce had a tiny bit of a kick and the ribs fell off the bone. The baked beans were some of the best I have ever had. We tried the fried pickles and they were so good! It’s a nice, clean, and friendly atmosphere. A great mom and pop place to taste some real bbq made with love! We chatted with the friendly owners while we dined. They were they nicest people!

Outstanding food. Been doing barbecue longer than most of the places in the area. Engineered their own smoker, resulting in some of the most consistent and tender meat that falls of the bones.

Stopped in to see a nearly empty restaurant. When seeing that I immediately begin to question going but we love our barbecue so we said we would give it shot. Have to say I was not disappointed at all. The burnt ends original sauce wasn’t great but the sweet sauce they gave me to try with it put them over the top. They were tender and fell apart just like they should. Sweet potato fries were a little over cooked but still good. The pulled pork was amazing but next time I would ask them to not drown the meat in sauce. Onion rings were good, and the corn nuggets were tasty. The service was over the top professional and will be going back for sure. Would like to see some juice options for the kids.
