Great place, convenient location – mediocre food. The pulled pork is to die for but for the prices to recieve a hockey puck that cut my gums when biting down? Not pleased for the price. Took the burger patty off and ate the rest just fine, but that’s half of the meal and cost wasted. There was no seasonings on the burger either, or if there was the char got to it before I could.
None the less disappointed. Appreciate the thought and care put into the food, like I said pork is to die for, but anything else is a big 50/50 leap of faith

My second visit today and the food and ice cream were fabulous. The owners are very friendly and accommodating! The pulled pork sandwich as well as the baked beans and potato salad were delicious. Then I had to finish up with an awesome dessert. Ya gotta try this place in Indian River!

Big Oaks BBQ: Incredible Food, Just Wish They Were Open 24/7!
My wife and I are serious food lovers (okay, foodies), so finding Big Oaks BBQ right after moving to Indian River was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because the food is phenomenal—truly homemade and top-tier—and a curse because we are now addicted, and their hours are just too darn limited! We wish they were open every day.
Everything on the menu is excellent, but we’ve had to make a sacred pact with the staff to reserve our Wednesday half-chicken and smoked potato. That chicken is massive, delicious, and the perfect meal for two (if you’re willing to share). The ribs? Top-notch.
But let’s be honest, the true masterpiece here is the ice cream. I don’t care where in Wisconsin that dairy comes from; it’s the creamiest, best ice cream we’ve ever had. My wife is on a mission to conquer every sundae, and I’m a dedicated follower of the “Cookie Dough Whiteout” cult. If you’re a foodie, run, don’t walk. Just try not to cry when they tell you they’re closed.

Must stop by this food truck and try their BBQ and ice cream treats. The pulled pork sandwich was excellent! My husband enjoyed the brisket and our daughters are huge fans of the pasta salad. Lastly, we enjoyed the blueberry and cheesecake sundaes and they were delicious!

My husband and I came here after trialing at rzr rippin’ rentals down the road. We love supporting small businesses especially ones with high quality food and company. Loved the pulled pork nachos and the “white out” I ordered. Plenty of food and ice cream options! They have the cutest set up and enjoyed the overall atmosphere! Definitely recommend and would come again

They were a very sweet owner couple. We ordered a hamburger and a coney dog and they gave us some soft serve ice cream. The owner also showed us around the kitchen and talked to us about all sorts of things. I highly recommend this very friendly and delicious food trucker!

Stopped at this cute little family restaurant on our way to Les Cheneaux Islands and it is everything that we love about people in the Midwest. The food was fresh. The service was friendly and fast and it was a charming little stop. After lunch, my boys got sundays and the owner made a Samoa Sunday for us even though it wasn’t on the menu! Can’t recommend it enough—great slice of Americana.
