I Love barbecue and I was so disappointed with the food in this restaurant. The portion for the amount of money that was charged was ridiculous the quarter chicken leg was extremely dry. My collard greens tasted like they came out of a can and my black beans and rice barely had any beans in it and was somewhat between warm and cold. The items sitting at the table like salt shakers, barbecue sauce containers were filthy. You can tell the buildup has to have been from a long time of not being cleaned. I can go on and on, but I just wanna stop here, smh I will never return to this place again! For the sake of other customers I hope things can improve here!

Ordered fried chicken sandwich with okra. $17 @ noon on a Sat.
Okra was perfect. Ranch is homemade and taste great, but is thin.
I’m 99% sure they took an old dried out grilled or smoked chicken breast and battered it and fried it. Dry and nasty. 0/10

The best places in life are the ones that make you feel at home. Thanks for the great food through the years and making it about so much more. The ladies up front always make it the best experience when I buy lunch at work, especially this last visit! 🙂 Excellent eats and incredible customer service! Check it out.

Ridiculously overpriced! Food was very bland. The turkey tastes like regular oven baked, no smoked flavor at all. Potato salad didn’t taste like potato salad at all, not sure what it tasted like, I just threw it away. The fake butter that they put on the bread seemed like they took butter flavored oil, and then thinned that out with some other kind of crappy oil,, had no real butter flavor at all. Pretty much just tasted like vegetable oil on lightly toasted bread.

Once I entered the restaurant, one of the employees stood up and walked towards to cash register with a long/stiff face (like I’m bothering her because I walked in to the restaurant) and did not said a word; no welcoming or offered to help me with the menu. I ordered and she repeated what I said hollering at the kitchen employee.

My first time here, and I should’ve read the other reviews first: the garlic toast had no garlic, the collards did have pork, but they were clearly canned. I only got one side because they said the Mac and cheese is “liquidy”, not baked.
The cashier who is just this side of rude and acted as if I were a bother is actually the owner who bought this 10 years ago (he told me)…it was never great back then, but definitely way worse in all aspects.
I tried the mustard colored sauce, which tasted delicious, however, the bottle was super sticky, as if it is never wiped clean. I didn’t even touch the salt shaker because it is clear glass, but you can see the grime on the outside.

Ordered the beef lunch with 2 sides green beans and Mac and cheese
To start when I entered the building, I walked into what seemed to be a very inconvenienced employ. Right away feeling like a burden to the staff isn’t what you wanna experience. When I had to ask for different sauces it again was an issue.
Although not directly rude, the cashier was not very friendly or helpful.
The positive side is the food came out quickly and the green beans were good. The Mac and cheese is better if you got the Golden Corral or make it form a box.
The brisket, was hands down the worst BBQ smoked brisket I’ve ever had. If I hadn’t paid $22 I probably wouldn’t have eaten it. The brisket was cold, dry and had ZERO flavor, almost as though it was just baked and over cooked at that! On top of that the must not have a steam table to keep things warm because it was cold the fats had hardened again. There isn’t much smoke smell to the whole joint so it makes you wonder how many corners they cut on their prep.
Definitely the worst bbq I’ve experienced in Jacksonville so far in my year of living here.

I got the chicken lunch plate.
Chicken was dry and low on flavor. “Garlic bread” was a sli egg of white bread with a bit of garlic flavored butter. The green beans were low on flavor as well. Very disappointed.
Will find a different place to get BBQ.

After having been a patron for at least a decade now, the food just gets better and better. Ordered a turkey dinner, made me a sandwich using that Texas toast and it was out of this world fantastic! Hey Boss man… Your meat man needs a raise!!!!
