This was an excellent place to eat off the snowmobile trail. It had the best burgers and fries. The chicken fingers were juicy and some food can be prepared for those that need a gluten-free option. The food is reasonably priced as well. However, all the restaurants in the area all have a credit card fee, so I recommend bringing extra cash if you don’t want to pay it. This is a must try if you are in the area.

Stopped here with my dad to have a beer and fries (elite combo). We chatted with the bartender Sarah, who is so cool and such a gem. We hung out for an hour or two, and just admired the antiques on the wall such at the train wheel mold which was used years ago to make molds for the steel wheels on the trains tracks. Loved this place because it reveals some of the history of the region :))

We recently dined here on a Saturday evening for the prime rib special. Two of us ordered the prime rib. It was excellent. Two of us ordered the rack of lamb. It was absolutely amazing. The best rack of lamb I’ve ever had. Do not judge the restaurant by the outside. It is definitely worth the trip

stopped in here today on the snowmobile. I had a buffalo pulled pork sandwich. It was excellent, great service, friendly staff, and a cool historic location.

We have been coming here for several years. The pasta portions were not worth the amount of money they cost. Some of our dishes were cold. We were asked if we wanted drinks while we waited for our table, we got 1 soda each and cashed our bill out before we got to the table. We were told if we wanted more to drink we would have had to pay again. We never got our salads until after our meals were brought out. We didn’t think it was very polite to blame that on the cook. One table of our large party did not receive bread until we asked for it. The larger table of our party did not receive enough bread for each guest. Overall we were very disappointed. This has always been one of our favorites places to eat. We brought three new people with us and we bragged about the food and service. Needless to say, we were embarrassed. They were out of lamb chops, ribs, fried chicken, and chicken and biscuits. This was at 5:30. It was a very off night.

Ambiance – 5/5 Place is as rustic Adirondack as it gets. An old train station with lots of rural charm.

Service – 4/5 Was a bit slow to seat, but it looked like they were really short staffed. Server was attentive and friendly, we enjoyed her conversation.

Food – 4/5 I had the ribeye and my wife had the salmon. Ribeye was juicy and tender, a nice cut and decent weight. Salmon was a bit on the dry side. Only downside is that fries don’t come with the meals as a starch.

Overall this joint was awesome and we will certainly be back next year.

This was our first try at this local establishment and unfortunately our last. We were greeted at the door and added our name to list and was told it would be 25 mins but we can wait at the bar. We sat at the bar for 20 min with no acknowledgement from anyone to place a drink order but mean while the waitress/bartender was handing out refills to others already sitting there. The most sad thing about this was where we were sitting the chef which I would only assume is the owner had a unobstructed view of all of us the whole time trying to put in a drink order while patiently waiting for a table. I understand its hard to find staff but unfortunately the young lady seemed to go out of her way not to even acknowledge our presence and even seem to turn her back to us evertime she wandered to our end of the bar. With a party of 9 I’m sure the food and drink bill would have been well over $600. Its just sad to see a business fumble so bad especially when the owner is physically on site to manage.

Stopped in for a quick drink and a snack. The Woodchuck cider was crisp and not too sweet, just as the bartender said it would be, and a small salad with peppercorn dressing that was really quite a nice little work of art and absolutely delicious. Wonderful atmosphere, food, and service. Can’t wait to get back for a full meal.

Very good food. Great atmosphere, although more nuanced lighting would boost to 5 stars. Tad slow on the initial service, but heck, it was vacation.
