Led by Chef Rung, Rung is a playful mix of contemporary and classic Japanese cuisine and sushi in a casual, intimate, easy style in fine dining restaurant. Rung continued to delight guests with the freshest and most unique Sashimi, Nigiri and sushi in Chicago since 2006. He has been moving and lives in the beautiful paradise Kauai. This is his hometown. Coast Sushi restaurant in Chicago that he started working as a sushi chef. Grand Hyatt Regency hotel is the one belong his work experience before he decided to moved here. Cooking has always been a big part in Rung’s life. Being raised by an amazing chef having the ability to taste good food was a given. It takes talent and passion for cooking.

I tried one of their signature rolls, J on Fire Roll. The deep fried sushi is certainly unconventional for me, but it turned out to be tasty with a fun, chewy texture that I really enjoyed. My husband liked his Monster Poke Bowl as well.
We were glad the restaurant was open on New Year’s Day. We walked in without a reservation, but thankfully we were seated right away, and the server Jaja was friendly despite the busy crowd.
From a traveler’s perspective, what stood out the most was the sense of community — it felt like a cozy local spot where friends run into each other, greet each other warmly, and even exchange friendly words with the chef.

The basil fried rice is the perfect amount of spice—not too spicy, yet spicy enough that you can feel the heat. The seafood pad see ew was also really good, so I definitely recommend that. Their sushi is pretty fresh. The interior is well lit and when we dined, it was pretty busy.

I love coming to this location as well as the one in Kapa’a. The lihue location does have a bit more items on the menu but the food here is just as good. My family and I’s favorite thing to get is the Larb chicken, extremely authentic and soooo yummy! good quality sushi and the friendliest service, highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner!

Small little place serving up great Thai food! We began with their homemade Shrimp and Pork Shumai and it was outstanding! I loved how it was slightly crispy and the sauce was perfect. For my meal I had the Pad Thai and it was excellent not too oily with a good flavor. My hubby had the Crispy Ono Chicken with Red Curry sauce on the side. We are not very familiar with curry so he got it on the side and it was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly! Would love to return if ever in Kauai again!

This place is a must do everyday! We went for dinner. Ordered Angry Tuna, an appetizer, Also Hot Mama, Monster Poke, Monster Roll and another 2 that i can’t remember the names of. Out the door for $124(including the tip). Great price on everything, big rolls, great service, friendly. We loved it so much we came back for lunch before our flight. Ordered Pad Thai, Monster poke, Scallop Roll, and Angry Tuna. Again, super fast, super friendly. Best sushi and such a great price! Will be flying in again for this!

Top notch service and hands down the best sushi roll I’ve ever had(samurai roll). The nigiri was flawless and the poke bowl was out of this world. Edamame was served hot and the fried ice cream was the icing on the cake. Well priced. I couldn’t have asked for better anything anywhere.
