I ordered take out. Absolutely delicious. The sides are especially on point. The gouda mac and chees and the smoked potato salad were amazing. The fried okra was perfectly cooked. Also nice generous portions. I will definitely go again when I’m in town.

OMG! This place is great.
We were flying back to Colorado out of the Raleigh Durham airport and wanted some good BBW before heading home. Mikes BBQ was a fortuitous find.
The BBQ egg rolls are AMAZING and packed with meat!
Their BBQ is fantastic.
My wife and I ordered the 3 meat platter to share and had way more than we needed but, because the meats and sides were terrific we finished everything.
We’ll be coming back again whenever in town or near the area.

Had the chopped brisket which was very greasy and didn’t have much flavour let alone smoky flavour. The coleslaw was too vinegary for me so I couldn’t eat it. The Mac and cheese was a very small portion which is fine BUT all I could taste was pepper. The service was good and food came out fast . Very disappointed but should have known by lack of people both dining outside and in ( place wasn’t busy ) on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

I only got hush puppies as a size & they were awesome. Just the right crunch & great flavor. I, myself, am not a fan of the BBQ as it is somewhat smokey; but that’s just me. The sandwich I ordered was big enough to feed 2 people. If you like BBQ, give them a try.

Overall Score: 3.9/10 – A BBQ restaurant with a decent setting and a few unique menu options, but long wait times, inconsistent food quality, and slow service overshadowed the experience.
Atmosphere and Service: 3.9/10 – The exterior looks decent with BBQ-themed decor, and the interior maintains a clean and appropriately styled BBQ vibe with a variety of tables and seating. It’s a full-service restaurant, which is a nice touch, but the service was extremely slow throughout the visit, which could have been a bad day. Water took 15 minutes, food came out after 30 minutes, and the check took another 10 to process. The restaurant didn’t appear to be busy, which made the delays more frustrating. While the staff was very friendly, the experience was held back by the lack of attentiveness and poor pace of service. There were also limited BBQ sauce options available.
Nachos: 5.9/10 – Served lukewarm, which took away from the overall appeal, but the flavor itself was solid. The beer cheese and buffalo sauce blended nicely, creating a slightly unique flavor profile. The chips were crisp, and the portion was fair for the price.
Mac n Cheese with Pulled Pork: 3.6/10 – A disappointing dish overall. The macaroni was overcooked, and the lack of cheese made it dry. The pulled pork was also dry and seemed hastily placed on top, without any integration or balance with the mac and cheese.
Cheeseburger: 4.1/10 – An underwhelming burger that didn’t justify the price. The patty was cooked well but lacked bold flavor. The bun was overly soft and turned soggy quickly. Topped only with onions and cheese, it felt too basic and lacked character. The baked beans on the side tasted canned and didn’t help elevate the plate.

I had the three meat plate. Chopped chicken, jalapeño and cheese sausage, brisket. Then banana pudding. Mac and cheese and hush puppies. I’m a native Texan. For me the Chopped Chicken was the star of the plate. Now the banana pudding needs 5 stars

Wings, fried okra and mac n cheese were amazing, My ribs weren’t hot enough…. the server said they needed to turn up the heat but that didn’t effect my $92 bill. I would eat there again but ask to make sure the all the food is hot. I really liked the pork collard greens spring rolls and pork cheese freis too.

Big Mike’s food is always excellent, but their service is unmatched! Any time I order takeout or eat in the restaurant my food is fresh, hot, and top quality. Tonight I had ordered DoorDash and the dasher picked up my order but never delivered it. A quick call to the restaurant and Mike was awesome, offering to remake it for me. He had it ready when I walked in the door and it was incredible (as always!)

I used to live near Big Mikes and loved it. I went back today and it was subpar at best. I paid $80 for 1 BBQ sandwich, a big cheesy, 2 sides, kids BBQ plate, 2 banana puddings, a beer, a sprite, and a kids juice box. Harris Teeter sells better microwavable BBQ. The big cheesy was terrible. It used to come with brisket and today it came with regular BBQ. When I brought this up to the lady she said it was $2 more, which means she made the decision for me. Probably why the sandwich was terrible. The BBQ came to us a little warmer than room temp. Maybe because we went at 11am?
A month ago I was raving to people about Big Mikes and how they should go. Mike is a fantastic guy but this place went down hill. Unless someone else goes here and tells me to come back, I unfortunately won’t be. I feel like we are breaking up for good this time….

Went here the other week. I’ve been here twice and it’s one of the better bbq spots around Cary. Got the Piggy Mac. It’s really no shots at it, but it did taste a little less flavorful than the last time I got this dish. It’s still good though. And then for the main course I got the 3 meat platter, which I chose the burnt ends, brisket and chopped bbq chicken. All of them were on point, very succulent, the bbq sauce was incredible, the meats were cooked perfectly. Just amazing. I got the smoked potato salad and fried okra. Which I always love their okra. I will say the biggest disappointment I’ve had with this place unfortunately is that I really wanted to try their ribs but they were out of them. I believe both times I’ve gone has just been too late and they didn’t have any left over. There banana pudding is also out of this world, some of the best I’ve ever had and unfortunately this past go around they didn’t have any (just that popular I’m assuming). But the staff is really friendly, very down to earth and fun. They even put our picture up first on their wall, which was cool. Highly recommend this place.
