Always a great time at Big Ma’s Kitchen. It’s my go to place when I’m in the sgv area. Food is great, service is great, and it’s affordable. The owner is a very nice and sometimes remembers me when I come by. I’ll definitely be back.

It’s very loud because of all the hard surfaces. The food is good. The wagyu is not worth it. The fried rice was good though. The fish is very tender and yummy if cooked tableside but it does have bones.

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is elegant and refined, setting the perfect tone for a high-end Chinese meal. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic, well-balanced flavors—from the perfectly cooked seafood to the rich, aromatic sauces. The ingredients were clearly premium and thoughtfully prepared.
Service was attentive, professional, and warm without being intrusive. Each recommendation felt curated, and the pacing of the meal was spot-on. This is the kind of place that elevates traditional Chinese cuisine into a true fine-dining experience. Absolutely worth it, and I can’t wait to return.

I was on the way to pick up some dim sum from my local spot when I saw this store was happening a soft opening. I looked up the menu and saw they have BBQ pork buns (chat siu buns) and had to give them a shot.
The baked BBQ pork buns was pretty good. The steamed BBQ buns were fluffy but I liked the baked ones better. I also bought egg tarts, siu mai, red bean sesame balls and taro cake. Overall a not bad experience. Will be back only for the buns, otherwise everything else was mid.

Big Ma’s Kitchen is a Cantonese cuisine restaurant with specialties like roasted duck and BBQ pork, plus lunch and dinner menus. It is located on Garvey and Del Mar Ave. in Rosemead. (The former location was Jade Seafood Restaurant.) I like their Chinese business name more than Big Ma’s Kitchen because the English business name is not as fancy as the Chinese version. I did not try their dine-in, but I ordered their to-go dishes. They have a discount dim sum price after 3 p.m. (buy two get one free, and the dim sum price is $5.26 each). I was there at around 3:30 p.m., but most of the dim sum were gone, so I only ordered their pineapple custard buns, beef ribs, and steamed pork ribs. I also ordered the 2-item rice combo plate (only $8.99). The dim sum quality was mediocre, but I liked the steamed pork ribs. The beef ribs were kinda greasy. For the 2-item rice combo plate, the taste was not bad but could be better. The price was cheap, so you get what you paid for. However, I still wanna try their other dishes and dim sum as well. The to-go service was fast and efficient, and they were very friendly. For the to-go rating, I will give them 3-3.5 stars, but we may dine in there someday to try their other dim sum and gourmet dishes.

This place is too small to host for dim sum and it’s going to be a long wait for the weekend. Parking is also a big challenge. The foods are above average compared to all the foods in the San Gabriel valley. It has few VIP rooms which I think it’s good for hosting for dinner.

Just swung by Big Ma’s Kitchen in Rosemead after spotting it on a YouTube review, it does lived up to the buzz! They’re running a sweet deal this week with all dim sum at $5.59, so we showed up at 11:15 AM and grabbed a seat right away. By the time we left, though, there was a crowd waiting outside, so definitely get there early. We ordered five dim sum dishes, including our go-to sticky rice in lotus leaf wrap, baked BBQ pork buns, red rice noodle-wrapped fried dough, cocktail buns, and a bowl of bird’s nest with papaya soup. Every bite was fire—especially those fluffy, flavorful baked buns.
The food was straight-up amazing, with the sticky rice being savory and fragrant and the cocktail buns adding a fun, sweet twist. The bird’s nest soup felt like a fancy treat, light and refreshing. Service was top-notch, too—the reception hostess was super sharp and made us feel right at home. They’ve got a takeout counter with dim sum at special prices, and a whole roasted duck for under $35? That’s a no-brainer. The vibe was bustling but cozy, perfect for a dim sum feast.
We’re already hyped to come back and dive into their regular menu for lunch or dinner—sticky rice with chili crab or lobster is next on our list. Would love to meet Justine, aka Big Ma, and hear his story. If you’re in Rosemead, this spot’s a must-hit for killer dim sum and great vibes. Just don’t sleep on it, ‘cause it gets packed quick!
