Inspired by the streets of Thailand and influenced by international favorites, we’re here to give your taste buds something to talk about. Whether you’re here for comfort food or a flavor adventure, you’ll find it at The Big Mango.

So we were starving by the time we ordered and our eyes were definitely bigger than our tummies but I’m so glad we tried all the things we did. They were kind and packaged our left overs for takeaway:)
Everything, I mean the everything was so delicious. We had the mo yang (bbq pork skewers) spicy wantons, zabb fries with some crazy yummy seasoning and dipping sauce, two orders of the tonkatsu pork (one with the massaman curry and the other with the Khao soi curry) and the mango sticky rice with scoop of coconut ice cream or sherbet? Oh and I also had Thai tea! The massaman curry was my fav with the pork cutlet, which was cooked perfectly and the massaman curry was so flavorful. I had never had khao soi curry, I really liked it but it was def my daughter’s favorite. Neither of us had mango sticky rice before and are now huge fans!
I love having a more casual dining option with such great food so close by. I also appreciate that they have allergen designators on their menu for GF etc.
The standout dish for me was definitely the tom yum fried rice. It was amazingly good—very flavorful, well-seasoned, and truly captured the bold, tangy-spicy essence of tom yum. This is something I would absolutely order again and highly recommend to anyone who enjoys strong Thai flavors.
The moo yang was just so-so for my personal taste. It wasn’t bad, but it leaned on the milder side and didn’t really stand out. I think this dish would be better suited for kids or for someone who prefers less intense flavors. The khao soi was decent and comforting, though not particularly memorable compared to others I’ve had.
For dessert, the mango sticky rice was delicious overall. The sticky rice itself was excellent, but the mango tasted frozen rather than fresh, which affected the texture and made it slightly less enjoyable for me.
Service here was excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which definitely enhanced the experience. That said, the pricing feels a bit high. Beef dishes cost an additional $4, and at this price point, I would expect more of a full-service restaurant experience and a nicer, more refined atmosphere.
Good food and great service, but the value and ambiance could be improved.
My wife and I went there and ordered five items just so we can try them all out. I seriously cannot begin to describe the flavors, freshness and authenticity of the food. I have to say that my expectation was that these meals should’ve been served on white fancy plates and being charged three times as much. It is such a unique experience when you see business owners take the time to care about the food and the customers and not try to gouge them, I’m not describing the food because I’ll just tell you as A Cambodian and a Cali transplant foodie, I could write the description of each of these items that could go on forever and you’d be bored breeding it.
Something that they do that I have to mention is how they flash fry the basil leaves and use it as a topping on the dishes, which adds such an amazing pop to the flavoring of the dishes. Not to mention it looks beautiful.
I’ll just say this, he will not be disappointed and Jeff was absolutely right, There is nothing like this in the Utah food scene.
Order anything and everything. It will be amazing.
OK, I also have to add, Jeff and his wife should open a dessert café next-door because hands-down, the coconut cake was out of this world.
Just a warning for all those who can’t handle the spiciness, order mild. We’ll definitely go back to try other dishes.
THE BEST THAI FOOD I HAVE EVER EVER EVER HAD!
we got the drunken noodles, orange chicken , fries (yes fries get the spicy fries !!!! Seasoned with spices from Thailand!) Mango rice and drinks , thier drinks were a pleasant surprise! Loved everything its a go-to for my family and I recommend Big Mango to everyone now !
The dishes taste better than many other (but not all) Thai places nearby. They have 4 spice levels (no spice, spicy, Thai spicy, and FAFO) which allows you to customize your dish to your palate. I can’t handle level 2 but I’m also not a huge fan of spicy things. We had 3 noodle dishes, the massaman curry, and the Thai BBQ pork skewers appetizer and we were all happy with the different flavors.
The price is really the biggest drawback and reason for 4 stars. $17-18 average for an entree and then adding an additional $4-6 if you want beef instead of chicken is definitely high for the portion sizes for an establishment like this. $9 average for the appetizers is also tough for the amount of food given.
We had Khao Soi Katsu, Moo ping, Drunken Noodles, Coconut Cake, and the Mango Sticky Rice cocktail — everything was so good. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you Big Mango for bringing true Thai flavors to Utah.
