The original location and one of our go to places every time we are here in Idaho. Always really good food and great service. I have never had anything on the menu that was bad. One of my favorites is the bacon cheese burger. You can get every one of their burgers as a single or a double. If you are in the area I would highly recommend you stop and try it.

We visited Big Jud’s years ago in 2004 and I am happy to find they are still making Jud burgers. The food was great, and the staff were friendly. I barely finished my finished my single. The camera was out of film on the day I visited and didn’t leave a photo on the wall of honor. I think my body temp raised at least 1 degree. Great memories.

Big Jud’s in Archer is iconic. They have the 1-pound and 2-pound challenge. If you can finish a 2 pound burger with all of the toppings, a basket of fries or tots ( 1 more pound) and a pound of soda. (4 pounds total) you get the $47 meal free. This is a Man vs. Food restaurant that was hopping when we ate there. The service is fast the floppy fries are oddly addictive and the fry sauce tastes like candy(just a little too sweet for me). Marcella was a great waitress and was very attentive even though the place was packed.
It will seem like Google maps is wrong when you drive there because it’s in the middle of fields and pastures but it’s worth it.
I’d never heard of the drink Cherry Iron Port so I had to try it – it was like a very cherry Dr. Pepper. We tried the Hawaiian and Blue Bacon . Both were great. We decided the Hawaiian was the best.

Great food! Huge portions. I especially crave the Idaho potato fries. The fry sauce is so good too. Ice cream is tasty. The burger buns are fluffy and fantastic.

I’ve been a couple of times now and I’m always impressed by the food. However, I am usually unimpressed with the service. We sat waiting for our waitress for a while, she eventually only came around to take our orders and drop off our food. I understand there were other groups, but I didn’t even see her the rest of the time; another server came and gave us our bill.

Behold, dear gastronomes and connoisseurs of the culinary arts, a quaint establishment where gastronomic delights converge with monetary sanity! The treasure trove of delectable comestibles is a veritable oasis for the ravenously inclined. Indeed, they boast those colossal hamburgers, akin to the leviathans of competitive eating spectacles. Now, I must confess, the mere thought of tackling such a mountainous heap of sustenance sends a tremor through my frail constitution, as my appetite is more modestly proportioned. However, should one possess an insatiable hunger that rivals the abyss, you might find yourself victorious, devouring every last morsel and snagging a free repast, along with a coveted portrait on their hallowed Wall of Fame! The burgers, oh my galloping gastronomes, were a resounding triumph, radiating satisfaction, whilst the fries, alas, danced on the cusp of mediocrity—though fear not! The table’s salt shakers stand ready to elevate them to a piquant paradise of flavor tailored to your whims. And let us not overlook the ambrosial fried sauce; a divine creation that bestows upon you the sovereign freedom of portion control, presented in your very own container—so you may indulge to your heart’s content, or exercise restraint, as the mood decrees. The serving sizes, I must declare, are gargantuan compared to the trifling sum of coin required—a veritable bounty of fries and burgers awaits! As for the libations, while the options may not rival Olympus’ nectar in grandeur, there lies a fascinating cherry beverage that my beloved betrothed endeavored to sample. He posits that it is not the epitome of divine elixirs, yet it does not wallow in the depths of terrible despair either. A pleasant compromise, he claims, for the cherry aficionados, while urging those with a more distant relationship to the fruit to perhaps steer clear. In summary, the service was as splendid as a dance upon the clouds, even though we encountered a minor hiccup when a companion was erroneously bestowed with an incorrect sandwich; but worry not, for the staff, with alacrity akin to a speeding comet, rectified the situation promptly, leaving us ensconced in satisfaction and our appetites thoroughly quenched. Without a doubt, my fellow epicurean travelers, we shall return to partake in this banquet once more and trumpet this find to all who will listen!

This review is for a visit 30 years ago. My twin, cousin and I came here to do the challenge at the age of 13. I was surprised my mom paid for 3 large burgers and fries… but we did it. It was worth doing and I still remember how the burger tasted. If I’m ever in Idaho, I will definitely stop by!

Big Jud’s was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Even though it was a busy night during BYU-I graduation week, the staff was super friendly and made sure our group of six felt welcome. The service was attentive and organized, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

The food was worth the wait—it came out pretty quickly, and everything was cooked to perfection. The burgers were flavorful and juicy, the fries were crispy and seasoned just right, and the tater tots were a standout—super crispy and full of flavor. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in their work.

Big Jud’s definitely impressed us with their hospitality, efficient service, and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back for another visit!

Went with a party of 10 and did have to wait, it’s a busy spot and they warned it was about a 45 min wait but we were in in 25. It was a loud and fun atmosphere, very kid friendly. The food was fabulous and the ‘Big Jud’s’ truly is BIG. Other table favorites were the bacon bleu & the bacon avacodo. Our waitress was a rockstar, we’re a lively bunch and she took it all in stride with a smile. Can’t wait to go back.
